    Gangsta Hand Signals

    So i was riding home last night after dark through Onehunga area and had just got a green light when i saw a couple of local budding gangstas on the footpath.

    As i passed they both proceeded to make various hand signals/gestures at me. The signals mostly consisted of elbows raised and far apart, hands pointed in an outwards/downwards direction with fingers apart and i think one even had one foot off the ground.

    Now, being one who has never had much to do with this particular culture, i was unaware of what this signal means and i was wondering if anyone could help me ...

    i guess in there language... they are saying the bike is PHAT.
    i.e. they like it/ think its cool/its the shit

    think the gesture is derived from gangsta/rapper videos. maybe to signifiy the bouncing of a car on hidrolycs.
    and all the wanabees do it. because they also think they are cool/ the shit.

    my mate had a ute with airbags, the gesture was performed for him many a time.
    it sorta makes you feel embarrassed

    A ute with airbags?? Like deployed? Most of the time the airbags just sit out of sight in the steering wheel or passenger side dash...

    What did Kramer say.....I think it might have been what they where trying to say. hahaha joking..I'll wait for the red reps.

    To be honest I can't quite figure the whole westside, southside thing or the boxers hanging over the jeans thing. Maybe I'm not wankstar enough.

    let me re-phraise it then
    my mate had a ute with AirBag suspension.
    you flick a switch the ute eitehr goes up or down, and you get a psssshhhh sound.
    the hommies see you, elbows raised in all
    hommies think they have some sort of connection with you, because the gangsta/rappers on tv and cars with hydrolycs...don't see the logix.

    they must have seen a hommy on TV riding a bike..
