    the reduction of ambient pressure once the cabin altitude starts to rise causes this - the gasses inside the body are still at the same pressure, so the differential pressure makes it harder to keep in. for real fun times, find an aeroplane that will climb at 2000fpm, and go to 8000 feet quickly!

    interestingly enough I require no external influences to produce titanic gaseous liberations of a heinous variety.........and I certainly wouldn't put a naked flame anywhere near them for fear of removing several layers of skin in the process......but thats enough about me for the moment
