holy crap! that's bloody awful mate but what's it got to do with prepay?

Om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum, om mane padme hum,

What it has got to do with prepay extends back to my original post saying I have had little experience of prepay, flying pony pointed out that I must fill up during normal hours as he has seen plenty, to which I replied that yes he is right, I fill up during the day or early evening, and my late night sprints to Akaroa and back can be done on one tank, hence why you won't find me being inconvienced by prepay at service stations in Christchurch.

    Phew, covered that now.

There are a couple of Mobil petrol stations in east Auckland where you simply swipe your card and enter your pin number then fill up. you don't have to take off your lid or interact with a human being. You realise that petrol stations only make about 2c per litre profit at the pumps?

Ti Rakau Road (91 and 95) and Pakuranga Road (91 and 97.5) are the 2 in this neck of the woods.

That's where I go after dark for fuel. Before 8pm most fuel stations even round here aren't on prepay.
In space, no one can smell your fart.

Yeah, those EFTPOS at pump stations are a great idea. If they want to save wages, that's the way to go.

Yeah mate, I hear ya - thought you're initial post was really concentrating on the issue of the inconvenience to the average biker. Nice to hear you voicing commendable socialist values on KB.

Another issue is that of generally low income in New Zealand - it forces many to be somewhat more frugal with their expenditure - this in turn obviously drives the competition to reduce the prices of all commodities. Petrol included.

    noted

yep, the wage/salary/commission i earned in the late eightees selling machinery is some 30% MORE than the average machinery salesman gets today

rogernomics followed by the national govt drove real wages waaayyy down in NZA

There he goes. One of God's own prototypes. Some kind of high powered mutant never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
