Touchy feely observations from the last week

It was a bitch of a week, no matter which way you cut it... just the pits. Some of the chatter on and off KB has been very telling about the level of community we have going though. Some observations...

The various threads involving UncleB, Bruce and Darryl each got hit... 13,000 - 17,000 times... EACH. People are interested for sure, but that means everyone on KB must have visited 4 times or so or (more likely) the active 1,000 have stayed very close to what's going on.

    We care

There has been more venom in some of the arguments lately. III started a couple of firey threads and in place of the usual piss taking and occasional round of abuse, it all went pear shaped a lot faster than normally possible. I don't recall a similar incident...

    We're on edge

Off KB the talk has been about tears flowing, tributes being made for the fantastic people that have now left us, drinks raised and moments of silence observed, collectively and alone for people many of us mainly knew online or by association.

    We're a community

Ther's been a lot of religious or supernatural type expressions of Bruce, Bruce or Darryl riding with us, smiling on us, and being seen in the clouds - among others. Normally such a heartfelt, frank "admission" would be akin to painting a bullseye on your back and parading yourself asking for a thumping. This week - no.

Turns out we're not such a disparat group of wild eyed bastards after all. We may actually have something in common.

    Long may it continue.

Well said MDU... There has been a change on KB... and its good, it shows that at the end of the day... we are a community who look after our own. And it makes me really proud to say I'm a KiwiBiker Member!

Something I caught myself saying to a a friend of mine said kinda clicked a few pieces together... "welcome to the family that is biking". I said it then realised what I'd said.

FROSTY's signature says it all really... basically we are a family of sorts. The good, the bad and the ugly but a community for sure.

Well said MDU, in my 32 years on this earth I havent meet, such caring and insightful people either on line or in person, than KB members. Its more than just a 'forum' its a place where like minded people come together, and share. I once asked UB (when I was more nooby) if I should join a 'motorcycle club in the rapa' he replied "you have already joined a club and it has 6000 members who can help you out". So true... I have made lots of friends, havent meet them all in person, but I am planning to in the future. A family for sure.

Aye, a pleasant and entertainingly dysfunctional family we be.

Next we'll be mooting the point that we (or at least most if us) are human...

To have had the priviledge of standing as brothers and sisters in arms this week was and experience that I will not forget. These people here are not just faceless fingers from beyond the screen. You all have shown a brotherhood (incl. the girls) that makes this and the wider biking community truly fantastic group of people to know. You big, bad-ass bikers, with attitudes, leathers and tattoos are f*cking fantastic!
They shall not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the evening,
    we will remember them

    Well said MDU

I have been staying off the site due to past indiscrescions (mostly caused by too much bourbon) but I have realised how much the people I have met through the site have become a part of my life.

I have caught up with faces I have not seen in two to three years ...under difficult and awful circumstances and all the past bitterness was put aside.

Donor your comments about seeing us on London St summed it up for me.

Oh and Colapop I am a big bad arsed biker with tattos dont let anyone tell you otherwise

I feel that this week may have drawn us all closer as a community, physically and spiritually. Unfortunate circumstances that they are.

    Well said MDU.

Amen Guys , I`m not religious or anything like that , but whether we like it or not we are cut from the same cloth ,not in the sense that we are the same race/colour/religion , more that we love motorcycles , if you ride a Harley or a Jappa (who gives a rats arse), we all strive for the same thing , to enjoy our rides by ourselves or with friends , and get home . I truly hope that as a community ,even those outside KB that we all can just embrace what we all do , Ride . Please be safe!!

True but at least most of the public that view the site are motorcyclists. And try to enjoy the warm and fuzzies while they`re here.
