Psychology of motorcycle riding in a nutshell or Kiwi!

Folks, I stumbled upon this animated cartoon, I was astonished to see the obvious parallels between the dilemma faced by the imaginary bird and the one we weigh every time we prepare for a ride, especially in light of the tragic events of past weeks.
"People are stupid ... almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People's heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true ... they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so all are easier to fool." -- Wizard's First Rule

Kiwi's don't fly right? So he pulled the trees up the side of the cliff and nailed them in... and then jumped off the cliff to pass the trees as though he were actually flying... very cute... He loved it so much and was so happy a little tear ran out his eye...

The paralells are the Kiwi is passionate about doing something that some would call crazy, dangerous and that the kiwi wasn't designed to do. This passion will ultimately lead to the kiwi's death (when he reaches the ground) and yet knowing this is likely the kiwi does it anyway. Sounding a little more familiar now?

Ultimately anything that makes you feel truely alive and happy is worth dying for, if that's the price to be payed.

I've watched this a few times now, cool clip... nice that the Kiwi's dream came true but sad at the same time as he/she paid at the ultimate price.
