awwww...seeya when you get back Chris. Will miss you on our rides for sure.

BRAVE move giving bike to KK for safe keeping though. You sure you want duck tape and number 8 wire to replace all the bits that worked when you left it

Any KB'ers down Queenstown way feel free to pm me for a beer or something as i'll be Billy no mates when i get there.
    Seeya
Work at Q'town during the week and come down here for the week-end it's the only way you'll not blow your hard-earned wages.
Give me a p.m. and I'll give you my address if you want to look around.

Auckland is that busy compared to Q'town that you'll wonder what to do once you get 100 metres away from the steamer wharf - unless you have a scoot. :spudwhat:

Cheers Mongoose and Scumdog, i'll definately be giving both of you a pm sometime in the near future.
    Trip update

Well i'm here now, and a very interesting trip down it was to
Stopped in Napier with a good mate of mine there on the first night, had a couple of quiet drinks at his place then hit the town :spudbooge with him and his son but got kixked out when his son fell asleep in the last club, which in hindsight was probably a good thing as got to sleep at a reasonable hour (4am).
Then onto Welly and a two hour wait in the infamous Welly weather for the ferry bloody thing got stuck in the straight, Welly was the only place where the sun wasn't shining on the whole trip (sh*t effort Welly!)
Stayed the second night in Blenheim (sp?) 2 beers then bed for me
On to road to Christchurch (relatively) early in the morning and get there about 3:30pm. Tried to get a couple of Chrstchr KB'ers out for a beer but no go, but not being put of easily, and as i was staying the night in a local pub went down and had a few with the locals and then gettin dragged into some clubs for more .
Anyway had to make a quick exit from Chritchr as the beer goggles had worn off and what i saw next to me in the morning was quite scary
But we'll put that one down to a few too many of Mr Beams wonderful pre-mixed products and a bit of out of town sindrome!

    Trip update continued

So day 4 and after 3hrs sleep (see last post) head on down to Queenstown.
What a spectacular drive this was (fueled by at least 2 cases of V).
I'd never been to the South Island before but South of Timaru is just mind blowing (the rest is bloody good to) but there's no way I'll be riding the bike down till summer as there was a lot of ice/ frost etc on the roads.
So arrived in QT at about 5pm Saturday made a phonecall and met my new boss at my new house
This is a 5 bedroom place on the side of a mountain in Frankton (6km from QT) overlooking Lake Whakatipu (sp?) and the mountains :love2:
And fecking spectacular it is to!!!!
There is only 1 other guy there full time and two others during the week.
    So to re-cap:-
I'm being payed top dollar to work in QT
    I pay no rent
I pay no power!! (first thing i did once i got settled in and had a chat with my flat-mate was to buy a heater which will only get turned off in spring)

This is the best move i've made since coming to NZ and i haven't even been out and experienced the night life yet (look out QT'ers Muhahahaha)

Told you you'd love it! When do you hit the ski slopes?
Hmmm... 5 bedroom house and only 3 occupants...
Let me just check the Akl-Queenstown airfares.
Damn, it's much cheaper to go to Aussie. Water skiing at Surfers instead, then...

J/k. Keep us posted, eh? But try not to make us too envious...

Wicked Chris! Sounds like your really enjoying it man! Pitty about the luck with woman... i can honestly only say the 6R has helped out beyond my initial expected stds! Ahhh... keeping it clean! and YEEHAW! New ferodo pads and fluid thrown at it (had the fluid EVER been changed?!) and feck me it actually has some feel to the front brakes now! (still a touch spongey for my liking but nothing short of braided lines will fix that - and id race on the current brakes anyways, still really awesome)

Man is there going to be anyone left in Auckland???

You are going and so are 1000 NZ’ers going to Australia every week according to some stats I saw somewhere.

But then again there are plenty of people to replace the loot buggering off elsewhere...
