Have read on other sites a possible solution to this.........seems the SD cards are not very secure in these cameras and vibrate loose and give the error message. Suggested fix was using a piece of soft foam and tape to hold the SD card securely in place. Haven't seen one of these cameras to know exactly what you do but it might be something to look in to.

Yep I think that could help as when the error message comes up the card does not save the footage. This indicates (to me ) that the card is losing contact with it's connection = error

If you do a google search for oregon scientific there are quite a few sites where people are using these cameras and different mounting arrangments and examples of the results.

Seen some good snowboarding ones but all the ones where they were used on a motorbike have the wave effect in the video. Only decent video I have found using these cameras was when it was rear mounted on the pillion seat

The same problem that i have, not much room for a bit of foam but will give it a go. Haven't been able to record a thing yet keeps cacking out.

Will be good to see that as well. Had thought this type of 'cheap' camera would be another option to look at.

Note the video clip resolution is only 320x240 on that camera. Oregon has 640x480.

Going to have a go at making a tank bracket like above

Will be interested to see if the $50 camera has the same issues as the Oregon one with vibration

Also heres a comparison of a number of SD Card manufacturers............there are some big differences in read and write speed between them all

I'd be tempted to put vasaline all over the batteries (slows down vibration and possible arcing at the contacts) and also on the SD-card (anti-vibration).
Won't cause any damage and may solve the problem.

    Sounds painful...

I might try that as I'm having no luck so far.

Well have just done over thirty minutes with the cam.

I combined a bit of sponge and a small mod to my mount and looks like all systems are go

Have given the front end a real work out as well and no errors.

It's gonna be a fun thing for sure.

Sound is still terrible even with everything taken of the mic.

Definatly a sound over event if I bother to try and be clever.
