Arrow Winners Average Speed, British MotoGP 2003

    Hi Folks,

I'm after a favour from anyone who might have access to the old motorcycle magazines from last year or a bloody good website. I'm in a sweepstake at work and I need to 1. pick the winner, 2. Pick the number of finishers, and 3. pick the winning average speed.

Now I'm pretty sure Mrs Biaggi won last year and that there were 17 finishers, but I can't find the average winning speed anywhere, not even on the MotoGP website.

    Any assistance greatly appreciated!

    Cheers
    Marknz

Does it have the time taken by biaggi to complete the race? Then you could work out his average speed fairly easily.

    yea, but

Just realised that it was actually Valentino who was first across the line but he got docked 10 secs for passing under a yellow.

Rossi's race time was 46' 05.482. But if you don't know how many laps they did or who long the track is..... or am I just being 'dupid and there is an easy calculation. This is where I defer to the brighter members of the human race

Yeah you do need to know those too, lol. It would be pretty easy to find out the track distance. Just need to know the number of laps, shouldn't be too hard to find.

Doesn't the race normally do a certain number of km's. I think that F1 does 300km, pretty sure motogp would be the same, definately less kms though. Maybe 100 or so?

    Just found this: http://motogp.tiscali.com/en/motogp/...?event_id=2558

Not sure if that will work, so here is a screen shot.

Biaggi won after rossi was docked 10secs (as you said), average speed was 157.041, num of finishes was 17.

    Enjoy

Let me know if you want to see the book or need any more info - there's all sorts of other stuff like fastest laps, qualifying times, lap records etc etc.

I've got the book at work today and have photocopied the page for you - just in case I've made any typos. Give me a call on 460 0198 and I'll arrange to meet up with you at lunchtime to give it to you.
