    What always gets me about overhead shots from 150+ miles up is how the urban connurbations are almost invisible in daylight.

    Carl Sagan discusses this when theres talk about life in the universe. Says that if youre a reasonable...distance from Earth, it looks like there is no-one there at all...other than a bit of weak stuff in the radio spectrum etc (Pale Blue Dot I think).
