I saw of Myth Busters (on prime tV) a while back they did a small study and prooved you do have full control over the vechicle when you have your cell phone to your ear and having a conversation and trying to drive...

Well they banned HHP's (hand held phones) in the UK and bloody good job too. Plod had an immediate crackdown of course. But you still got people using them and dropping them like hot bricks if a copper came into view!
I dont understand why its such a decision to insist on hands free kits in cars. There is no decision really, just do it!

Dunno if it was news over here but before I fled the UK people were being busted for eating while driving too...sarny or Mars Bar in one hand meant not being in total control of the vehicle. Now that is a bit hard to swallow, especially for those Yorkie Bar munching truckers. So where does it all end? Theoretically adjusting your CD/radio is just as distracting. Although having said that, the Peugeot I had at the time had these controls on a steering column stalk.
