Anyone around South Auck going for a ride today?

Well I've got some time on my hands (till about 3-4pm) that I figure I'll use for riding, just wondering if anyone else is going to be out and about around those times?

I haven't been riding with another person let alone kb'er for a while! It's getting lonely out there! :P

/edit if I leave before someone replies, I'll be out clevedon ways probably.. maybe tackling twilight road and working on improving my skills

I need to take the missus RG 150 out for a fang to clear the tubes etc. (the downside of a 2 smoker - needs to be ridden hard from time to time.)

    Need to eat first though.
In space, no one can smell your fart.

Well my ride just got cut short, as my mirror almost fell off!
*note to self, when putting mirrors back on, screw them in properly*

If the weather gets a bit better I'll be keen for a quick ride somewhere, I just missed some heavy rain I think.

I see Blue Sky - off to ride the machine - will be on the McJim Mobile - chickadee will fang her own bike later.

If anyone is interested I will hang around Clevedon from 2:30-2:45 or until I get arrested for loitering.

Well that was a good ride! Thanks a lot McJim, sorry you had to put up with my slow gpx (gn250 with fairings is what I like to call it).

Thanks for the riding feedback too, I don't get many chances to ride with other people so it was very valuable feedback.
I might have to go out to those rodes more often, that was only the 2nd time I've been on them, they seem really fun.

    Thanks a lot !

/edit: I came home to a very angry friend who had been waiting at my house for almost an hour, it was totally worth the scolding

I think you need your eyes checked. I got rained on in Maraetai, rained on in Clevedon and then again in Howick and Botany. But still was a great ride

    Doh!

You should have reminded me about your time constraints and I'd have just done the Clevedon - Maraetai road and back to Auckland.

I'm only passing on second hand knowledge though - you should consider getting a Mentor throught this site and attend the RRRS course - it's amazing how much confidence you can get from knowing your braking distances.

Watch your lines in the corners and you'll be fine. Bugger - I'm logged in as the missus again.......

Timing is everything - the rainclouds know better than to piss on my head - they fear me.

I'll have to practise my Glaswegian-style 'Snarl at the Gods' as I ride along then

Nothin' to do with practice - they just know how hard I am. Have fun at RRRS.

Kevfromcoro - my wife is of at RRRS today so I am at home with the kids and can't go out for a ride. Start a thread - there may be some others available.

Dude - I got to ride from Botany to Papakura and back - It's hardly Homer's Odyssey is it? (In fact it's not even Marge's RVR!).

I've been the doting father and worried husband from 8:00am until about 6:45pm - Crashe will verify as she came round to have her bike seat measured - she received a hastily made cup of tea and had to put up with me removing her saddle, changing babies nappies, changing kid's DVDs, feeding children and wondering where the fark my wife had got to.

Bling to Crashe for her patience.

Eh, you know we guys are crap at multi-tasking! And fer feck's sake is wonering a new Scottish vocab word I haven't heard yet? No worries, at least you got to ride ... I hate holidays since it seems I get to do less riding than when I'm working!

btw, you did remember to dust off all that white powder that Dover is brewing in his garage now right?

It's not my fault if you spell my quotes wrong

It's chalk dust silly - Dover was using a blackboard to express himself on. You're a school teacher - you of all people should have known that!
