    GPZ400 84 cam chain ajustment?

I have brought 2 GPZ400's and have made one good one from the two
(mainly to go to the cold kiwi rally)

Ive got one up and going well but have heard nasty things about the cam chain tensioners

What is the correct or best way to ajust the cam chain
(and is there a mod for replacing some bolt on the tensioner)

Any help would be greatly apreciated
ive looked online for a service manual but i cant find a 400 or 550 service

    Cheers
    Grant

And the manual isnt in this thread http://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/showthread.php?t=3511 ??

tensioners ought to self adjust. If you are worried get a new one. That is my experience with them. As long as the camchain is on the correct tooth ie not out of phase, then theres not much else you can do. I dont know the GPZ but other bikes I've had have worked as above.

    grant--send me a PM--ive got a haines manual for the 550/400
The 550 tensioner was the first to give problems.
MY OPINION only is that the tensioner teeth whilst keeping the chain tight I think they were too small and gooped up with crud.
