I agree... Its become too commercialised and makes if hard for young families and parents with the presure of keeping up with the Jones and having the latest and greatest in's errr what ever they are this year...

Speaking of that.....and I know this is going way off track....but with all the talk of tax cuts etc...which haven't eventuated...why can't we simply give hard workers a break by simply making gst something like 30 % and do away with personal tax? Those that have two jobs are currently hammered for trying/needing to get ahead.....those that have the money spend more...they can pay more gst...I know we all have to spend...but surely then if you save hard/work hard it could be a better system? Being a solo parent myself.. my kids ain't getting ferk all this year.. (hense the pic of the lonely bare chrissy tree in yonder thread...) & I, myself am spending the day volunteering in at The Mayors Dinner, where they put on a kick arse meal for the elderly who live alone, the homeless & the wayward teenagers that have been kicked out of home!! I am really looking forward to it too!!!
