    Another 3D model

you guys may have seen my inline 6 engine thingy

i been using this program now 6 days i think and still no tutorials *YAY*

    just modeled this...

Honda B18CR engine cover with distrobutor and ignition leads/ oil breather
    quad throttle bodies
    Skunk2 cam gears
    4-1 racing headers
    vortech supercharger
intercooler with piping and plenum for quad throttles

all parts i modeled from real stuff..can never get to look 100% real though

still need to work on texturing....
i knows its not the best but i like it so far

What 3D software are you using?

Some outstanding photorealistic results are possible.

Like you said, lots to learn to make it all come together.

    Looking good there fella.

You've obviously mastered the modelling tools.

The texturing is trickier. You'll need to start looking closer at the materials you are trying to model. Look for any imperfections in the surface. Can you replicate this look with bump maps? Sometimes a bit of variation in the actual colours can work wonders too.

You're definitely on the right track though. Well done.
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

    don't laugh they exist.

Selective Laser Sintering and a few otehr techniques allow printing of solid metal objects with working hinges and simple joints, maybe not a turbo kit but.....

I model 3D stuff a bit, but only for the purposes of checking a circuit board design prototype:
