    Firefox spell check question

I've been using Firefox 2 with the handy spell check feature, but have accidentally added a few mis spelled words to the dictionary as that option is only one step down from the suggested correctly spelled word list.
Does anyone know how to remove the accidentally added words from the dictionary?
    Cheers

No I don't. It's been driving me nuts trying to find out.

On a related note, don't install the UK English version of Firefox 2.0. It automatically overwrites your keyboard settings to UK, and as some of you will know the UK keyboard is slightly different to the US one that we use in NZ. Makes some keys do odd things and you can't change it back.

enter URL about:config and you will get firefox config settings. Look for spellchecker.dictionary, and change it to en-US

    Try this:

    For windows 2000:

    Control Panel\Keyboard

    "Input Locales" tab

in the "Installed input locales" select the input language with US for the keyboard layout and click the "Set as Default" button. If there isn't one with a US keyboard layout, click the "Add.." button and add the input locale and keyboard layout you want then select it and click "Set as Default".

    For windows XP:

Control Panel\Date, Time, Language, and Regional Options\Regional and Language Options

    "Languages" tab

in the "Text services and input languages" box click "Details"

then in the Settings tab, change the Default input language to the one with "- US" at the end to get the US keyboard layout.

If you want you can add or remove Input language and keyboard layouts.

Tried every Firefox keyboard/language/location hack on the planet including a few reghacks of my own. Doesn't work. UK Firefox 2.0 is doing a SW translation that remaps keystrokes. I'm in discussions with Mozilla at the moment and I'm not the only one with this issue.

I've tried different keyboards from wireless to an old style AT keyboard, and have had to go back to the US language version of Firefox. I've also rebuilt a PC from scratch and experienced the same issue. I'm using an XP build with SP2 built in.

Interestingly I have the same issue with Solaris 10.

EDIT: UMM I opened my eyes

As like I have said I have had no issues with the spell check, but what does happen with regular frequency is that the first click in a page returns it to the top, ie scroll down the new posts find one you want to open and wahmmo up to the top but on going down a second time no whammo

The BDOTGNZA does not support the practice of adding misspelled words to one's computer dictionary. This does not make those words right! Be warned.

    LMAO

Jim2, I have heard of quite a few localisation (localization? ) issues in Firefox 2. I myself have no problems, but I'm using the Linux version which, although running slightly slower than the Windows version, seems to have been less buggy in the time I've been using it (since 0.9, not that long ago lol). But then again you have same issue under Solaris, which would be the same source code. Who knows. These bugs are the worst to try and pin down -- so many different configurations, language profiles and stuff like that; it's probably some incredibly unique combination of circumstances (like back in 1997 you tried using a Dvořák keyboard for a month, and that's left some tiny little trace in your registry... hell... you're dealing with a Microsoft OS and something made by Sun, who the fuck can tell what's going on?).
