Just to back up what Deano is saying...

While it's nice to watch people doing 300kph - not one person had a bad word to say about anyones effort or there right to have a go. Personally - I'd like to see a wider variety of machines and I think I've talked one guy with a hot HD into having a go and why not? I'll be doing a write up for the Classic Club lads and try to convince a few of them to give it a go as well..

I really enjoyed the low key approach and the fun of it all.

    Thanks

Pity the clock wasn't running for Tony Sampsons wheelie runs, recon they would have been fairly respectable flying quarter times, awsome display guys.

it was a fantastic day. marshalling down by the factory, so didn't get to see much of the fast runs, but good to see all the bikes after completing their runs.

Good to see the variety of machines out there, and the attitudes of the locals varied from 'good on ya' to 'fuck off'. The joys of traffic control Might have the SV out for a run next time ...

Got me certificate today Deano - thanks mate. I'm cuffed!

    Standing 1/4 = 16.29 Sec
    Flying 1/4 = 99.3 MPH

    To put this into context....

Cycle World road test of a 1966 TR6 SR (mech equivalent now my TR6C is running street gearing and I'm running a 67 engine in a 1970 chassis)

    Standing 1/4 = 15.8 Sec
    Flying 1/4 = 95.0 MPH

So my standing technique needs work but the old girls flying!

    A stock 1970 TR6R would be 102 MPH and 14.9 sec...

    Chuffed? I'm estatic!

I'm not surprised. Same issue as last time. People not told it was on and access and through roads to property blocked with no detour warnings at the entry to the roads resulting in having to back track 2 or 3 kilometers. You'd probably say "fuck off" too if it was done to you and you had no interest and no perception of motorcyclists as anything other than speed crazed gang members.
If a man is alone in the woods and there isn't a woke Hollywood around to call him racist, is he still white?

I'm not tough enough to tell a speed crazed gang member to fuck off...

The last two Dalefield Rd excercises have resulted in me getting my ear chewed off by mouth breathing yokels who think that anyone born outside the Wairarapa is a foreigner. Just because I'm related to the Yokels doesn't make it any easier and since the the Battle of the Masterton Cossie Club in the early '80s the Yokels have no fear of Gangs.

Ahhh, it takes all sorts doesn't it. One 'yokel' asked if the "caution tape' was necessary across his driveway........Ummm yes it is actually !! Despite being notified of the road closure weeks in advance, some people still forget.

    Bah humbug.....pfffft

I find it VERY hard to believe they did not know about it - my information is that all residents were notifed, and they only have to wait ten minutes or so before the road was cleared. Detour signs do not work one hundred percent either and in a lot of cases it is quicker to wait for the runs to end so...... pfffft.

Didn't we hear the same gripes about cycling races and access.....FFS...let's all sit at home and weave farken baskets or twiddle our thumbs so we don't farken upset anyone.

Rather you than me getting these calls Jim - I'm afraid my diplomacy only stretches so far before speaking my mind.

Well maybe the leaflets in the letterboxes just weren't enough. maybe they got chucked out without being read. At one point 2 locals trying to get back in both claimed they didn't know anything about it.
