Glad to hear all is well. Hope she's feeling better, too. Have a good Hogmannay.

Yeah, thinking about it, it did seem to be quite localised over Hunua/Clevedon all day.

Ran into Death, Inc and White Trash arsing around in a car park on the way home.

"where you off to?" sez Death.

    "Hunua", I sez.

"Wet out that way" he sez.

Maybe I shoulda listened to the wise old sage after all.

    So that was you lot?

I was riding back over Twilight road (about 10ish) and into Whitford when you lot were heading out, looked like a great turn out!
Me was the old GSXR 1100 with the slightly soggy rider in a blue jacket and no wet weather trou on.....I'm sure someone mentioned summer???
I would like to congratulate the last of the bunch on their waving ability, very enthusiastic you were.
If it's any help the rain definately did not follow me back to town.

Not a dubious honour at all - a pleasure.

In fact I think the mighty GN250 exists purely to give pleasure to all.

    1. Pleasure to those who own and ride and love them.
    2. Pleasure to those who hate them by giving them an object to take the piss out of.

Even though you have a great looking and nice Honda, you too now have a fond GN memory as having it as the first vehicle you passed - see, it's just a beautiful thing!

And as for the yellow pants of doom - New years day was beautiful out East so I didnt even take them to work, as a result I had to stop in at the Warewhare on the way home and now I have some lovely green ones. The gear collection grows....

People don't actually hate the GN250 - it fills a niche in the motorcycle market. It'll be a thing of the past soon cos of yamaha's new 225 road bike and the fact that they're stopping Ginny production (I hear).

Brand new inexpensive 250 to learn on - I'll bet Chisanga paid $8,000 for his bike. How much change would you have got from $8,000 when you bought the Ginny? That's a lot of lollies.

About $8300 once on-road costs are factored in

It's funny that it was a choice between the VTR and the GN for me... I had the money available and for my size I thought the VTR was the best choice. Still think the GN is a great deal though for the price... GN is a very polite bike too... they prostrate themselves in subservience at their owners feet when they stop to put on waterproof pants

Was great to be a part of your ride - you might have noticed me with my V6 3.8 L machine (Holden SW mutter, mutter..)
Good to put faces to names and thanks to all of you who helped me with McJim's bairns at the pub. You guys sure looked great pushing strollers and carrying Thomas the Tank engine bags....
How many of you noticed those other big tough leather clad biker boys - one changing nappies and another cutting up his wife's lunch...I wish I had it on video

I had to change my nappy - it got a bit smelly due to some of the sudden hairpins I met.

    Nicely done!

Yeah I think you made a good choice too. I've noticed that I am half on the pillion seat when I ride, if I slide forward to where I would be right on the 'drivers' seat, my legs are horizontal til the knees and I look like one of those kids on the minibikes. And I'm only 169cm. (5'6 ish)

Actually I could have got another Ginny AND some lollies. Hmmm lollies....
If I had had $8000 of course. Finally got around to getting a bike to commute and save some bucks, now what am I doing? Going for joyrides of hundreds of ks, looking for trinkets, buying stuff, eating in pubs, having a BLAST!

My bike really REALLY sucks in the corners with no pressure in the front shocks... Luckily and easy fix at the gas station air pump.

Great ride McJim, despite the rain at the start and one particular corner where the Vmax decided to do a little two wheel drifting.
