    SkyTV Bastards again

Well not content with not securing rights to televise MotoGP and showing delayed coverage of the Leguna Seca round of WSB, Sky now want to take the piss. I notice on page 22 of skywatch magazine they have a column about August's motorsport coverage. To illustrate the column they have shown a photograph of Rossi and Biaggi. WTF!!

I have lodged a complaint to the commerce comission and will post a reply when I get one.

Face it Jimbo750 they don't care about us..
And I to my motorcycle parked like the soul of the junkyard. Restored, a bicycle fleshed with power, and tore off. Up Highway 106 continually drunk on the wind in my mouth. Wringing the handlebar for speed, wild to be wreckage forever.

They care not about they're existing customers, especially if you're on UHF:

"Sorry, piss off. None of our installation specials apply to existing UHF customers, but we're going to ring you about them once every 2 months anyway..."

We'd tell them to stick their service where the sun didn't shine if it weren't for the fact that there are no alternatives. They certainly have our flat by the proverbial balls...

I hear there's a windows app by the name of hvcplus that decrypts UHF broadcasts on the fly using a decentish PC and TV tuner card..

..Of course one would only consider using such an application for scientific/educational purposes only..

Of course what one really wants is the setup that allows one to download the Fox signal from the Optus-11 satellite and decodes that on the fly.

If I could do that I would consider myself rather scientifically educated indeed.

Well you could start with a genuine DSE Satellite starter pack..

I'm sure a couple of lines of java would have it decrypted in no time!

I won't volunteer though; I've created enough new swear words from my recent efforts at cutting code..

Over here in the UK, the BBC (so available to everyone with a TV) now has the rights to MotoGP, World Superbikes and British Superbikes. Which should be good news. But it isn't.

MotoGP USUALLY gets shown live - unless something considered "jolly important" like 3-Day Eventing is on. World Superbikes are either shown in the graveyard slot later in the day, or the next weekend. British Superbikes are at best shown one week late.

On the plus side, we have Eurosport if you have cable or Sky. Eurosport will show MotoGP live (in fact they'll dedicate about 6 hours of programming to it) and also has the best commontators - they'll also show WSB live unless it is clashing with GPs, which is fair enough. Sky Sports has BSB and usually show it live.

Oddly, I've switched to Sky from Cable, as the cable company were so useless! Result? More channels, better schedulling, and Sky +, so I can record 20 hours of programmes, pause live TV etc.

Sky have to perform over here, as they have competition from a range of cable outfits. Sadly, doesn't sound like they have to make the same effort over there.

Sorry guys, I've started another thread about this cos I didn't read the "new posts" first.

    Being frustrated is disagreeable.

Really?? Where did you hear that? It would be really good then, they show quite alot of motorsport. Wonder if the rights for f1 and the v8 supercars would have any conflicts though.
