Under $2K your best buy is a RG150 or KR150 two smoker. Only 1 hp less than a Bandit 250 which costs about $5K

I wouldn't let my missus own a Bandit 250 - much daftness dropping a 250 engine in a 400 frame! Despite being a 38hp 250cc it's too heavy.

RG150 37hp only 128kg! = much fun to be had!

its not so daft when you consider that when you get your full you could blow the engine and drop the 400 in

and its not heavy, its only 140kgs dry....

and you do the 400 bandit swap out as a project AS WELL so you dont look like a fat cat that knows nothing about bikes

The blown 250 might compete ok with the naturally aspirated 400 anyway ...

And still be legal on a learners

well fuck, if the cops have as hard a time as i did finding the 250 badge (took me 6 months or so? and then rg100 found it)

it'd be a pretty neat project if you had the right model 250 (mine

) and the 400 engine

Only if you promise to have a Bandit 250 engine in it - I'll even let you use one of the VVT engines if you like. That way people will think I am the far better rider.
