    Phurrball's 'new' 657cc Suzuki triple ;)

I'm sure most people like a laugh at some of the more ridiculous vehicles on our roads...I am now the proud owner of one

The thread title is no lie - it's a 657cc Suzuki triple...but it's sporting 2 wheels too many - a step further removed from those strange BMW scooter thingees with a roof...yep, I am now the 'proud' pilot a a 1998 Suzuki Alto...(3 speed auto)

I have inherited this mighty beast from my late grandmother, and it's so far down the automotive food chain it carries a sort of perverse amusement value.

Woeful acceleration - but once up to speed it's pretty good. Will hold 100 (or more...but not much more) happily on the open road, and only falls to about 75 on big hills (like those into Dunedin). She rides on mighty 135/80/12 tyres.

It's shocking what was left out to keep down the new price - cigarette lighter socket, floor mats, tool kit (you do get a jack and wheelbrace, but nothing more) trip meter, only one door switch for interior light etc...I have been amusing myself adding a few of these things in to make it more closely resemble a car. Fit, finish and trim is as cheap and nasty as expected.

That all said - I have been shocked at how good it is in most regards for something powered by hampsters and rubber bands! The engine sounds pretty cool - and even has a touch of induction noise if you wind it up...
It'll be a great city car in Auckers - costs the same as my Bandit 250 to run, and parks in almost the same space.

So...anyone for a pimping project? A hayabusa repower? Hehehe

Anyway - here's the beast in its glory - look out for it at Teretonga on the weekend

I think it's fair competition to the whole touring sector, enough space for 3 pillions and their luggage! Excellent weather protection, 4 tyre traction system, rugged engine...

    I'd love one
