Tomorrow morning I'm heading over to Oakura bay to visit more whanau before heading home that is another great bit of northland road.
Why would you ride that long and that gnarly stuff if you don't have to, Its what we do, we love it.

Some of us have to live vicariously...

I decided that on my superior powered red Hyosung GT250R(L plated proudly displayed) that I was to set off from Albany up North in a rebel tour(should have included crashe) starting at 5.30am Saturday morning.

Having been boycotted by the alledged higher powered bikes I was determind that I would leave the 600 plus CC bikes in the dust. However just short of Wellsford on SH 16 I saw a green blurr in my rear mirror and thought faaaarrrrkkk its gotta be that Quick Kid guy.....

At least Quick Chick gave me a wave.....

Dammitt I did 135 plus on that straights.......

Yeah thanks for the ride, had an awesome time. Though by the time I got home the KR was running like shit on its lawnmower oil . Hope its alright today once i've drained and replaced it .

Great to meet you all, and all definitly be going up there again as soon as i've sold KRims and replaced her.

You're very welcome Ben. Great to have you along so I could at least look like I was quick.

600 kays and my arse is a-hurting, but oh what fun. Some very nice roads up there, and some choice holiday spots picked out for next year. Well worth the effort.

Thanks to all the litre riders who hung around for us (mostly). Pace was at the upper limits of what the VTR250 will do, but all worth it

P.S. Good to see Steve got his wallet back. We all know how embarassing it is to go into the shops to buy condoms, so losing some is a real pain ;-)

thanks for organising the ride qkkies it was a superb day out, haven't done that route before and it was well worth it, good roads, good company, bummer you didn't get to ride back with us.

i'm bloody impressed you found your wallet steve, good effort brother!

enjoyed following the smaller bikes gunning it through the corners, always brings a smile to my face when i can see someone ringing out the throttle.

Hey thanks for thinking of me....... much appreciated.

I went out for my ride.......... went up Red Hills, Old North, Peak Road, along Kaite......... Flat Rd up throu Orewa to Warkworth....... called into visit a mate who was back down in Albany..... oh well ya get that.....
Shot up to Wellsford and had a bite to eat.
Called over to see Speedie at work....... but the buggar must have been out on a job (next time speedie) headed back down 16 and stopped at the look out....... chatted to a biker....... and then two wellingtonians stuck in a car for their holiday... Ducati left at home.

Cruised on back down 16 to Kaukapakapa back along Kaite............ Flat Rd to Dairy Flat..... back down 17 to Albany and caught up with a another mate....

Had a great ride....... awesome day...... and NOT a cop to be seen......

Just a nice cruisey day out on the bike......... no great rush..... just having a fun... Oh and I did over 200kms on my bike.... with me going back an forwards on the same roads.....

I can do alot more........ as I have travelled up to Russell and back in a day... with a very sore knee at the time.
Plus recently rode all the way down to Palmie north in a day...

So Littleman, anytime you want to go for a ride....

    Have to agree
Everyone rode their own pace & their own style, and it was bloody good to see!! - Although it was the only KB ride that I have been on where we lost the organisers
Cheers everyone, see ya at the next one
It's been a rough day. I got up this morning, put on a shirt and a button fell off.
As I ran out the door, I picked up my briefcase, and the handle came off.
Now I'm afraid to go to the bathroom.
