Can't be too much less. Minimum wage is about $9:50 innit?

Thanks for the feedback, guys. I think the missus was fairly set on the job anyway, so she chanced her arm a little before I'd got back to her with this lot and wangled a little extra. Sounds like she's not getting such a bad deal.

Consider the going rate for a level 1 manager at McDs in Christchurch, is about 12.75 and your expected to be available 24/7

Its a cunt of a job, and your pay only really goes up with the minimum wage.

Take the 14 an hour, if you dont, hell I will move down to Wanaka and take it for myself

On a side note, does anyone know of any job going for someone in Christchurch. Full time, and can work everyday but Saturday (can do Saturday evenings though).

Around $10.25 is minimum wage for an adult. So $14 is well above minimum wage. I am picking you are over 18?

In my retail operation $21.32 p.h is paid to the Manager who has full responsibility, $16.00 to the "junior" and a further $3.00 p.h when junior is in "charge" for 4 hours or more (when manager is on holiday / sick leave / every second saturday).

$14.00 is not to bad for a 2 day a week job.
On Time .... In Spec .... On Budget .... Yeah Right!

Just focus on the payoff at the end of it all.

Its easer to find a job when you have one, any responsibility can be spun to your/her advantage in a C.V later on.
Pat on the back for getting out there and getting herself into a place to be offered the job in the fist place.

Yep. $14 an hour seems alright for that....even if there is a level of responsiblilty.

I am reassured that I'm not the only working class joe on KB.
For a while everybody on KB seemed to me to have zillion dollar bikes and be highly paid businesspeople from Ponsonby or The Terrace.
