FOR SALE: 2002 Yamaha VMAX

One owner, very tidy condition, fully serviced, many improvements: upgraded front and rear suspension, improved brakes, braided lines, lighter and better sounding custom exaust, ESPER engine hangers and mounts, Mini screen, bar end mirrors, custom seat. Barnet clutch conversion. Dynoed 118hp and over 75ft of torque (from 3 to 9thou rpm). Much loved and enjoyed but now want a BMW GS. no test pilots , new reg and WOF, matching tyres (new rear).
Handles remarkably well, do not compare to the standard one your mate rode ten years ago and freaked out on.

very nice, pretty i dont have no coin - i was considering a vmax as a second bike (for taking the misses on long hauls).

lol nah he just means his handles much much better than the stock one. The Raw power is still there. Infact if he actually did get the tboost set up, it means you get the kick in the pants from the carb sharing alot sooner.

All the best to someone... The max was my first "proper" bike when I started riding and I'd dearly love to get another one. If it wasn't for all the commitments and lack of money... Have fun.

My comment about the "friends" or "magizines" review of the max is because over the years i have had many (more than i care to remember) people pass comment on how bad the max handles. Most of these are from , i heard it from a friend who rode one back in "88 or a review where it was compared to a blackbird or ZX6. !!. Get real. I must admit i was disapionted on the first ride i had (when i bought it), because it really boogied but was scary on the bends or rough roads. HOWEVER...now it rocks, i ride regularly with many different bikes and i always stay with the group. Most other riders will come up to me afterwards and look over the max and comment that they never thought these went that well, BUT this one does. Changing the shocks, springs and fitting the engine hangers and mounts transformed the bike.
If you are interested, compare it to other cruisers then ADD horsepower.
11.6 at meremere, first and only run. $350 ticket at the traffic lights for an awesome display of giddy-up (to an undercover nazi).
This is a solo bike, not recommended with pillion, unless you ride like a nanna or you want to dump the bitch without saying anything. This is the reason for selling, i like to cruise quick with pillion and also want a better fuel range (only 140:quick, 200:nanna). Much loved bike, if i had the money, i would keep it and add the GS.

Easy solves mate, Get a sissy bar for the pillion thing and Exactrep make a 20.5ltr tank that fits in where the stock one does.

hate the look of the sissy bar, i have t-boost, so at 4thou theres quite a pull, its hard to be smooth for the pillion if you are punting. tank?so-so, but almost everything else on the site is wild, but exspensive!

found a pic. Corbin do a seat for the Honda Rune that has a folding sissybar. Looks like ass on that bike but then, the bike itself does anyway, more so with the trunk they've attached to it in this pic.

I wonder how hard it would be to do something like this for the Vmax only have it flow better with the bike.... Think I just found a challenge for some of those garage engineers on the VMax Forum lol.
