I love that... "woke up on the 28th of december .. I arrived back today the 6th Jan "
I went for a short ride the other day - it was so beautiful I nearly ended up in Tga to visit my brother - the mere fact of wolfpups at home needing parenting held me back.
I'm so envious.
What a legend!!
One day, I'll do something similar....

Stick with the Suzy Mate - nothing against the Yammie - they're a great starters bike - but you're WAY past that
Nice ride. Makes it fun riding with others though, lonely rides but good you met up with some others, awesome community of riders out there. Would have passed you on the way north from Otorohanga to Kaitaia on New years eve. Did Oto to Rangariri via the back roads ( I left at midday) Then sat on 120 km/hr along the Motorway on the mighty GN and out to the awesome windy roads through Helensville up to Wellsford. Planned to go up the West Coast but was 6.30 at Dargaville so headed up the middle to Kaikohe (nice ride anyway) and then up through the Mangamukas to Kaitaia arrived 8.00pm for a well earned monteiths dark ale. Only rode with another bike briefly from Wellsford before they passed me up a hill. GN clocked 10000km on that trip (Bought new in August 2006 ) and has done most of that at 100-110 km/hr. Going strong and loving it.
