Yeah, saw that. Pleased the parents are going to be "instructed", though.

My daughter got a kitten about ten years ago that had been tormented by the owner's little kids and he's still scared of males, though I can freely pet him.

You said it..................the only excuse could be that they were so young they didnt realize what they were doing........if so why were they alone and why did they have access to a swimming pool...................if they were old enough to no better then they all need a huge walloping on there backsides but as this country has gone completly mad all that will happen is a talking to and in another few years they will begin the first stage of incarceration.....

    just one question

why was there no fence around the pool. Or if there was, how did they get into it. I thought you could be charged if you didn't have a fenced pool?

Saw a kid i our street with a puppy only a few weeks old just before christmas. She had taken it outside (without her mums knowledge) to show the neighbours. The way she was holding it, it looked like it was gonna fall any second. Although she meant no harm I made he take it home again.

I have a 5 yr old nephew and 3 yr old and 2 yr old nieces. Each of them knows to treat animals (and other primates!) with respect and would never have done this to an animal.

Makes you wonder what these kiddies have been taught (or not taught) by their parents. And also makes you worry what these kiddies will be up to in 10 years time...

There is now plenty of evidence around that says "the younger kids are when they abuse animals, the more likely they are to abuse humans in later life. This more than likely involves wives, husbands, children and friends."

    Go figure.....

Saw the news item on One tonight - one of the kittens in question looks just like my one did when I got her...

The kittens in question looked great after a bit of TLC from the vet, after this bloody stupid action by those kids...

Yes, true... but you can't help people who aren't prepared to help themselves.

Unfortunately with THIS story, these kittens can't fight back and the little fuc*ers who did it to them should NEVER be allowed to own an animal.

    was it a one off?

from what i understand these kids were very young and had never hurt the mother cat in the past. sounds like they were treating them like toys and had never been taught to respect animals.

Thing that bothers me about a story like this is if it was a dog and the dog had bitten them to protect itself, it would have been destroyed.
