    Wasp is sad

I havn't ridden a bike or pillioned on a bike since (Uncle) Bruce's funeral

Its been almost 3 months now since I crashed my bike

I still havn't been able to give my personal farewell to (Uncle) Bruce, (loose) Bruce and Daryl

Its been well over a year since I've been out with a girl

Before I crashed my bike my life was working and bikes with a bit of time with old non biker mates from school, now its just work

At the work xmas do, my second ever, it was also my second year with no partner

My two week holiday in Turangi/Taupo was nice, got really depressed on new years eve when i started thinking too much about my life

now that i've got home I find myself looking around my room at all the meaningless crap I posess

and i've got work tommorow while the rest of the people in the building are off till next week save one

and who cares? nobody thats who

Been in a similar mindset to you once (re: depressed). Don't worry mate, it will get better alright. KB is here to help, PM me if you want/need anything, it's the least I can do. Others will be glad to help too; there are councillors on the site, and people that genuinely care, and don't want to see anything happen to you.

Just don't do anything silly; not saying you will...but don't even think about it. Cheer up alright, things can be a lot worse.

Why don't you ask some Welly KBer's to pillion you on a ride or something? Sometimes, the most obvious things to most, will not be on the mind of someone in a depressed state. I've been through a lot, if you want some pointers. We're all here to help others.

I been depressed for about 5 years. Prozac/Aropax/whatever, don't be afraid of antidepressants, you can try them for a few months and stop if you don't like them.
I wouldn't be alive if there hadn't been antidepressants.

Not true at all mate. KB has been there for me when I needed it. I didn't even put up a post like this, people cottoned on to my mental state from my regular posts. KB is a good place, a nice community. Don't be afraid to vent here.

not looking for sympathy, not looking fo anything, dont care if people read this - i dont expect them to and if they do i dont expect nor want them to care. just felt like writing my feelings down, people who know me know that i rarely talk about how i feel let alone write it down

i know im in control of my life, i know because of when i wasnt in control of it

changes will be made, life will go on, my bike will be back

edit: this isnt really a cry for help, definately not anything suicidal, its just how i feel - my life has no meaning at the moment, I miss the days of helping people with their bikes (not that i ever really helped anyone anyway)

most of all i miss my independance, without my bike i am but i child again a shadow of a person i used to be

God - you're 18. Chill, plenty of time. There was an excellent thread on suicide and depression a while back which was full of people explaining how they pulled thru down and out times.

I think that might make good reading. And a start as someone said is to try get more going on socially - eg pillion. Whats happened to the school friends? Sometimes they just do disperse unfortunately. But ya just have to keep being on the look out for new mates. Support is impt and it doesnt matter where from - good support that is. If all else fails try a priest - lifeline etc.

If you are having any signs of major depression eg guilt, feeling tired and unmotivated, poor sleep especially awaking round 4am, anxiety, not ever feeling joy and feeling emotionally flat, hopelessness and heavy burdened...

antidepressants may be just the trick. If there has been any big shocks ? how well did u know Uncle B, some counseling sessions may help to put the experience into a narrative that fits integrate the experience into your prior life in a way that makes sense and is peaceable.
