We...the public, are not privy to all the facts leading up to his disappearance.

We know enough to know that the Court has found in favour of Jayden's dad in terms of legal custody -- it is unusual for a Court not to award custody to the mother. We know that Jayden's mum is in jail for contempt of Court. It can't be healthy for a kid to be in hiding with a 63-year-old man. Whatever people may think of the proximity of people's eyes, I am sure that did not sway the Court.

As far as I am concerned the mother and esp the grandfather are putting themselves ahead of the child... I cant think of a worse thing then for that poor kid to be hiding, god knows what the grandfather is telling him about his father... brainwashing him. They cant hide forever.. lets hope it doesnt turn out bad for the child.... the grandfather could be desperate to do anything.

he may or may not be ............. but being in the public eye is intensely distressing for some people - makes 'em act dodgier than they otherwise would...

............ and the courts have ruled he's a better bet for raising Jayden than the mother [so there must be SERIOUS probs with her -- as that's a verdict you don't get often?]

the 'victim' in all this is the child

    - funny how often THAT's the case

do your best to find him, peoples!

Jayden is probably being sheltered by the Mongrel Mob. He'd fit right in with their kids - red banana, no shoes, out til all hours - cher!

Indeed. Let's hope the kid doesn't get too screwed up.

    Ah well.

If he ends up psychotic, at least he'll be at home in a world full of children from non-traditional families.

This whole thing really rarks me up to be honest. The father must be worried sick and the kid might be too. Hopefully he's ok.

Whoever is hiding the kid needs to be put on notice - the longer it takes to get him back to his dad, the longer the sentence will be... if the little man is hurt in anyway it's a "throw away the key" sentence.

Fuck them. The stakes are too high and the innocents are paying.

Edit - as for Mum... solitary for her for a bit please... just till the boy shows up, and then she can go back into general circulation. Sentence adjusted per the rationale above of course...

    Cool

ok my gut feeling on this......... I dont like the daddy.

There are two sides to every story....... we are not being told the whole story.

As to the father getting custody....... the old story: MONEY TALKS.
Yep the daddy has money and got a good lawyer onto it.
He could bullshit any lies that he wanted to.... it does happen.
Im not saying that this happened in this case....... but it has happened.
    Breakups can get very nasty.

Why wont the mother say anything, cos she is protecting her son....... I bet she has been bashed inside and still not talking. Why cos there are two sides to every story.

Grandad is protecting his grandson..... for a reason.

As to where they are hiding out....... could be anywhere in the back of beyond in the bush....... many people can live out there for years on end and never surface.

Let the real truth come out as to what really happened and the reason why they are protecting this little boy.
Keep money out of the courts and let the truth be known.

This isn't a popularity contest -- "Parent Idol" -- where members of the public get to determine which parent should have primary responsibility for Jayden's care and upbringing. The relative proximity of dad's eyes or the blonde-slapperness of mum's hair aren't the issue. The Court has made a decision and people are not only choosing to subvert that determination but also to mess with the life of an "innocent" party -- Jayden.

There are many people who know where Jayden is. Maybe there should be more of them serving prison time with his mum.

Although I agree there are two sides to every story when it comes to break ups... both sides see things their own way... and think they are in the right. I havent really been following the story very closely but the child should come first. If his dad has custody... surely the courts wouldnt have granted it if he wasnt capable? All this has done is damaged everything in his life. He prob loves his grandad alot... but hes going to go to jail for a while for kidnapping (if they find him), his mum is in jail, what kind of kid can deal with that?

Whoa - hold up a bit...

How many facts are on hand?

We know Jayden was taken from the library
We know the court is satisfied the mother had something to do with it
We know the court awarded the father custody of Jayden.
Courts give custody of a child to the mother in the vast majority of cases

    We do not know
    Where Jayden is
Why Jayden is being hidden (Protection? Selfish interests?)
The father won the case through a monetary assault on the judicial system
Why the mother is keeping quiet about Jayden's location

As you say - let the facts be known... but only if it's in the best interests of those immediately involved.

Let's get the little man safe and back into society. Will it ever be in his best interests to keep him out of the scholing system? To deny him access to both parents, or indeed to either parent.

I agree 100% with MDU, sticking to the facts is a better idea than going on gut, epecially if you dont know the people involved.... hopefully all the facts come to the surface soon

Jesus wept. I can't believe you people. No wonder New Zealand has one of the world's highest instances of child abuse and domestic violence. Everybody becomes obsessed with speculating about peripheral issues and doesn't focus on the matter at hand. Doesn't anybody accept that there has been a crime committed here? Or what?

    I do.

I am currently weeping along with Jesus, if that makes you feel any better.

For what it's worth, though, the general response confirms my long-held opinion that most people are pretty... stupid.

Which is fine by me; it lets me float to the top.

To wax metaphorical, I am lipidous faecal matter in the freshly cleaned toilet bowl of life.
