BikeTranz - motorcycle movers - review.

Well upon moving back to auckland from the south island, the nice policeman decided to stop me and hang onto my bike in the impound yard for a wee while, and well, i needed to get to auckland, so alas my poor bike got deserted in the south island, cold and alone she sat.

But with help from a kb'er in rangiora she got out of impound and was safely in a garage.

Now i came to the dillema of how to get it to auckland, after contacting freighting companys and them all being utterly useless either not bothering to reply at all or giving me a ridiculous price, some up to $800.

So i went hmmm biketranz will probably be very expensive, bike specific service, trucksa carry only bikes etc...

But i thought what the heck, filled out an online quote application.

within an hour i had a reply, complete with quote for the amount, and a reference booking number if i wished to continue, i dealt with Adele, very helpful, always quick on replys.

Now me scraping this money up wasn't easy for me so i went hey can i pay you guys via net banking now just so i know i have it all covered (me and money are soon parted, so didnt want to accidently overspend on something)... anyways lol

So sure enough Adele said sure here is the account number etc, the other options were also to pay by cash when the bike turned up etc.

The bike is booked to be picked up this week from the mighty rangiora.

I am stoked with the service so far and will add more to this when the bike arrives, i think it would be pretty safe to say my bike is in good hands judging by the service i have recieved so far...

Incase you are wondering it is a 1982 katana 650 suzuki

Cost me $480 to get her up here.

(which was bloodey competitive in relation to the other quotes from the freighting companys.)

I will update when she arrives, very happy so far

    Skid.

Just flicked them another email to keep myself in the loop just wondering roughly when it would be arriving so i know i will be around and not be going away etc etc.

Within 5 minutes i had a reply being told that my bike is arriving in auckland tommorrow, and a call with be given to let me know when the delivery driver will be in my area, to sort out a delivery time.

I'm blimin stoked, it only got picked up from rangiora (slightly north west of CHCH) on friday of last week! (3rd october)

They are doing well so far!

Well! the bike arrived today, thursday the 9th of october!

yup just 6 days after it got picked up.

The driver called around 1pm said i will be in the area this afternoon etc. i asked if any issue with getting it dropped to my parents place two suburbs away... no problem at all!

i asked if he could call me nearer the time so i could head over to my parents place then.

He called back said he was at st lukes leaving now, a bike to drop at penrose first then my one. approx 40 minutes he said.

So headed over to parents, and bang on 40 minutes after ringing he was there.

Now a side note was i had overpaid them by $10 on my net banking, i emailed saying this and said hey i wasn't fussed, but sure enough, an envolope on my bike, containing a $10 note, and a business card.

Bike has arrived exactly as it was sent, not a nick not a scratch NADA. (well nothing new from what ive done in the past! haha)

    In summary.

Excellent service all round but to break it down:

    • Competitive price (the best i got from ANY freight company)
    • Very friendly staff the entire way
    • No problems whatsoever on making adjustments to what was going on.
    • Very quick on email replies.
    • Organised perferctly, they are there EXACTLY when they say they will be! This was both at the Rangiora end and my end.

But to top it off beyond bullet points, they understand what a bike means to you. It's not just a piece of freight, they know it is somebody's pride and joy.

    Thank you BikeTranz.

    Credit where credit is due!

I would recommend to anybody i know with nil hesitation...

hope this helps some of you guys. The online quote is very easy and quick should you ever need it.

(I was not paid nor given any kind of discount or gift etc for this, this is simply my personal view from dealing with this company, and i believe firmly in credit where credit is due)

Dealt with them many times, bringing to me, and when I sold a few.
Nothing was a prob, they even timed a purchase and sale where they brought me my Ducati, and took my old Duc away to the new owner, swap over.
They delivered a bike from Taranaki the next day for me, then when it came to pay up, the guy spied an old TS125 that I had for sale for not much and said he'd take that instead of cash for the delivery, so threw it on, both happy..
    Only company I'd use.
