NO---I wont let this one go -folks a little detail Shaun left out here --ANOTHER competator who was racing that day was basically first on the scene, he organised the bike so that Andrew could carry on racing and then proceeded to spend the next two hours stripping parts off his own racebike in order for Andrew to carry on racing. Mate, if for no other reason than that I owe you a beer! That is true kiwi sportsman ship at its best, thanks you Shaun, that was an amazing thing to watch, for those of you that haven't figured it out it was Shaun Harris who stripped his bike down that day

Thanks for the inside story Frosty.

It was an awesome enough sight to watch Andrew Stroud kicking arse on a borrowed bike(!!). To find out now what went on to get him back on his own ride for the next race is deeply impressive and truly shows the camaraderie of bike racers - even at a top level competion.

    Well done all those racers!

Is he accelerating so hard that it's lifting the front wheel, or is the airspace between the front wheel and ground because of a bump or something?

all i can say is that guy is a legend (don;t understand him tho, as i would have raced my own bike)

    however a question,

Andrew caused the red flag, why is he allowed to start the restart?

Road racing rules currently allow the rider causing the drama to restart, and yes Andy Evans is a legend

Gremlin, both you and Andy deserve a beer!!
As it happens, I'm bringing down 21 dozen with me for the week off between Levels and Ruapuna. Come and say hi and get what you two deserve!!! (Maybe not in this order......)

p.s. the beer was left over from my Taupo Road Race Spectacular..... not my personal stash....
