    Ahem...................No
I would consider it for a Bugatti Veyron 16.4 if someone else was picking up the running costs...

If you have to think about the answer, well.. unfortunately your not the type of person I need to meet.
Never owned a car, why would I want to?
If your starting out, in 10 years you might be able to call yourself a biker. Depends on the experiences you've had and the passion you still feel.
It's either in your bones or it's not. Like the cold on an early morning winters ride (do you love it or just want the ride to end so you can get warm?).
I've never owned a car and don't particularly want to, unless one my my dream machines were to fall into my lap figuratively speaking, would you call me a biker?

Yet I riding on those cold winter mornings, I also riding in the rain. Snow and sleet are right out of the equation.

40K would get me three bikes.

the 150K for that PoS wankmobile would get me a huge fleet of bikes, a van to cart the off-roaders around, a people mover to haul the tribe around in and a fully restored classic car - with change left over.

Thing is, I don't need that much. An old light off-roader to hack around with off road, my XT225 to commute and tour on and an old BMW R100CS for comfortable 2-up touring. A serviceable car to fit the kids in (ours will soon not be able to fit me, strayjuliet and the 4 kids so, damn, I'm just going to have to ride the motorbike to wherever we want to go together) with a tow ball for a trailer and a trailer to lug the off-roader and the kids' bikes.

I'd get change out of the 40K (especially as we already have the XT and a functional cage.)

Nothing like the the impracticality of the front overhang of that thing. Honestly, what road in NZ are you going to be able to drive that thing on without destroying the chin spoiler. You couldn't even drive it onto a petrol station forecourt. My bike will take me anywhere. Don't get me wrong, I love all performance machines, owned plenty of fast modified cars myself. But that car is just stupid for use on a public road.

Yep, deserved that. Sorry for the sanctimonious bullshit posted last night after a few beers (got to get out more). Hanging head in shame.

Well not really. The only car that will compete with big bikes to my knowledge is the Bugatti. I don't really ever expect to see one of those on the road in this country so for practical purposes they might as well not exist.

If you are thinking of buying one though Sarge I would like to come for a ride

Even the relatively humble Hornet 919 should go 0 to 160kph and stop before your HSV, FPV, BMW, or whatever, can get to 160.

Without a lie if I were given something super fast exotic blah blah I would sell it, buy myself something adequately fun to drive and spend the rest of the money on a great bike. I used to love cars, buy all the mags, and have not missed an episode of Top Gear for the last 3 years... but flash cars are just nice things to look at now.

I get/got shit loads of enjoyment out of my $600 under-performing Daihatsu Charade.
