Yes, that was loads of fun... thank God for mechanics that think they know what they're doing

I think I was fairly clear that I was speaking of my own personal experience, so I'm not sure why you're making such a fuss. As for how long it takes them to get stuff done, it seems to speak more of your attitude than theirs that you expect a busy service department to drop everything for you when you walk in off the street without even the courtesy of a phonecall to arrange it in advance. I guess you also think that the doctor is a jerk because he has other patients, and his receptionist was a hizartch for telling you that you should have called and made an appointment like everyone else.

That said, I am glad you have spoken in Yamaha's favor, as I have never actually been there (I didn't realize they did bikes; we are talking about the place on Te Rapa Road shortly before the roundabout?) Knowing now that they do, and that they have good service, I will go directly to them instead of waiting for Boyd to order parts in.

Waikato Yamaha is part of the McDonalds Shell Complex on Pukete Road... and I warn you: Sidewinder is applying for a job at Road & Sport, so beware

Or just cut to the chase and hit the cook. I do have that "I could do with a beer" feeling.

80k loop, just 2 of us, Dargor on his ZX250 and myself.
He rode really well, dont think he had done much night riding.
We took some back roads and kept away from most traffic.

The objective of new guys heading on any group ride needs to be: To ride their own ride. Not get caught up with the event.
I can remember some scary rides I went on in a group where I felt the pressure was on to keep up.
Pick who you are going to ride with. If you dont have confidence that faster guys up front will wait at turn offs/ corners then you are probably better off planning your own way home rather than pushing yourself.

in a one sentence quote to sum it up:
Ride your own ride, otherwise you'll be pillion on someone elses ride on the way home
