    Rjays Explorer Bag

    Bloody great product.

Goes on the pack rack (doesn't have the two sleeve thing like some ventura models for the smaller, more curved ventura rack system though), can clip on there really securely with solid clips.

    Great features:
Over the shoulder strap for carrying it at your side. (also has removable choulder straps),
Has solid plastic sheets that you can leave in or take out of the sides of the bag,
But best of all, it's standard size is 47 litres, but you can expand it up to a whopping 82 litres by undoing 4 zips . Bloody brilliant.

I bought mine for about $170 ($180?) from Motorad in wton. Bloody so glad I did eh.
To split or not to split, that is the question

    Explorer Bag

    Hi

We bought two of the Explorer bags to take away this year. The rainproof cover is really good. We hit rain at Turangi on our way home and just stopped at the side of the road and pulled them over.

We go away camping and we found the Explorer bag really good. Didn't take any time to load the bikes in the morning.

We too have one of these. The best removable tailbag on the market by far -- 4 stars out of five. Other systems have significant deficiencies -- like weatherproofing, and I'd give the best of the pretenders two stars, tops.

    Yes recommended from me too.

Mine has been great. I normaly have it on back to front, with the base sitting on the pillion seat. It is stunning how much can be put in it when it is fully expanded.

The only problem I've had is where the cord goes into the rain cover. The steel grommett has pulled out, minor really. When you pull the cord to tighten it, make sure you push against the grommett with your other hand.

When it is fully packed - see my profile pic it is huge! When I'm riding, with full soft Oxford panniers as well, it is just like riding with a really well behaved pillon rider.

Also I wouldn't recommed using it fully loaded and the weight supported on a standard ventura pack frame, it would be too heavy for one of those.
