    What a moron...

I popped into Levin this morning to check my mailbox and on the way home (in the car) I had a bike right up my rear end. I could see him no problem, he wasn't in my blind spot, he was right in the centre but about a bike length behind me all the way through the town centre. There was heaps of traffic and cars backing out of parking spaces so there was no way I was going to pull further to the left to let him pass. As I approached the Mobil service station at the north end of town a car turned in front of me - towing a bloody trailer - so I had to brake. How the biker avoided running into me I have no idea as he had no escape route. I got to the 70kph zone and expected him to overtake then (I was stuck behind a diesel van at that stage) but he didn't, preferring my rear bumper all the way to the motel a few ks into the 100kph zone. Then he decided it was time to overtake - on a blind corner, with yellow lines and in the path of an oncoming car! He overtook me, the van and the car in front of it, narrowly avoiding ending up a hood ornament on the oncoming car, which had to move to the left.

Absolute tosser. Didn't catch the rego or exactly what bike it was, but if anyone knows of a fat rider heading north through Levin at about 11.30am today, on a late model naked red bike with one of the modern oval headlights, wearing black and red gear with a black helmet, tell him from me he needs to wake up his ideas and treat others on the road with a bit of respect. I can imagine if he had run up the rear of my car, it would have been my fault, not his! I got around the corner to find him braking frantically as he came up behind a stream of cars and trucks with no overtaking room.
Yes, I am pedantic about spelling and grammar so get used to it!

Yep, there's plenty of tossers out there - and they are not all in cages, either!
Pity, 'cos' they give decent folk a bad rep too!

Yep and its riders like him that remind me of why my hubby and I made a decision
to only ride with a group of motorcyclists we trust.

Imagine having that motorcyclist on a group ride

Like all of that breed, he probably had a very small willy which probably houses a similarly small brain. And anyway, even if he has a brain, it still only makes him a half-wit! Yep! as we have all said, there are too many dickheads like this on the roads and a lot of them are bikers who instantly assume that because you are in a car you can't possibly be a biker yourself.

Yeah, I wasn't impressed because for most motorcyclists I DO move over to allow them plenty of room to pass if I'm in the car, but it was not safe to do so in this instance. He could have quite safely passed in the 70kph zone as it is in a very wide part of the road and there is good visibility, but to do so on yellow lines on a blind corner is just pathetic.

It may have been a Cagiva Raptor or similar as it had that sort of headlight but I didn't see much of the bike as he blasted past me. I was conscious of him right behind me when I braked for the car and trailer but I was more worried about t-boning the car than having a bike run up my arse!

Which perhaps explains why when they shag a fat bird they say "...thanks for the tip, babe."

from what I gather.. (could be seriously open to slander here.. ) BUT... if you are rear ended.. it is the person who DID the rear ending that is in the wrong!!!! obviously following TOO close!!

If anyone gets up my date... I let them know to 'back off' by tapping a few times on my brake pedal.. just enough to make the brake light come on. & I do that whether I am riding my bike, OR driving my car!!
