No, you haven't convinced me to put a flame to my bike. I'll leave that for someone else to try on their bike.

If you are going to bother either buying or manufacturing frame sliders use what the pro's use [i.e oggy et al ] specially modified Nylon 66 [Nylotrol]. Trust SPB the Toolmaker, this stuff is the ducks guts. Skateboard wheels are a grade of polyurethane; another less than ideal material.
Need help purchasing Nylotrol I can help [giz a yell]. I could manufacture some sliders and make a stellar job but I'm to f$%#in' busy.
    Interesting....

I don't think it would make too much difference on my bike at the sort of speeds I typically do - they're fitted more to protect the frame corners from a direct impact and a short slide rather than any majors.

I might upgrade them to Nylon 66 when I get the chance.

A good point El Dopa. Frame sliders for most protect in minor incident accidents mainly garage drops, low speed slides etc.

A better compromise on a cost performance basis would be UHMWPE [Ultra High Molecular weight Polyethylene] rather than Delrin/Acetal.

where opinion holds more weight than fact.

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.

obviously not.. $600 pingers only gets me oggy nobs... not a full Yamaha; I could ride Dovers pushy and still have a better hp to kg ratio than you, never mind ride faster.

Was that a subliminal message... 'Big' ??

Hmm... I think I'm about 1.9 kg/hp at the moment, that's me and the bike combined for any smart arses out there. Could be worse, on the 4r it was 4.6 kg/hp.

That's enough for me for now

    Try not dropping your bike.
Or buy them from the US
    Or stop moaning.
