My father was one of those so called "poor fucks". He died 6 years ago at the age of 68 with major respiratory problems.

Those reperations they are giving are so restricted that something like only 100 people are going to get anything. Thats from 10 years over there with literally thousands of NZ soldiers having served.

Its not even our governments money. The USA paid this to the NZ gov years ago to be paid out to the Vetnam vets and NZ is trying to keep as much as they can for themselves.

Dont talk about a caring, progressive gov here in NZ. Its the same as every other gov. Looking after its own arse above everything and dominating those sheep that follow.

Mate, you must have been reading with one eye shut. I said 'may' include vets. I know as well as anyone that almost no compensation has been paid out, and any that does will most likely be too little too late. Sorry about your Dad, I have a friend with a nasty skin problem as a result, so I'm not ignorant of what people have to suffer. I also am not naive enough to call our governments progressive but I believe as a 'country' on the whole, we are. Also, I have been to many 3rd world countries including Egypt and Israel, and I believe this is the land of milk and honey, in comparison.

In comparrison to those other countries yes this one is good, but it is capable of being so much better.

Been away for 25 years before coming home 4 years ago.
