    Sugilites Round 2 Nats Report

I arrived at Timaru with T.W.R and we set up base camp. The weather was foggy, but otherwise dry

I headed out onto the track for the 1st session with tyres right up to temperature. It had been a long time since I'd ridden at levels and I was really pleased to be out there and was feeling real good about being on my favorite track in NZ when on lap 4 I started to accelerate out of one of the right hand corners and lost the front big time
I slid for a fair while but was OK, not a scratch on me, but unfortunately when the bike had hit the grass the crash knobs had dug in and sent the bike tumbling in large 10 meter hops. I went over to the bike and surveyed the damage, not good
As we did not have money for spares or any crash repairs left in the budget, I decided to put the bike in the van and take it back home.

I turned 40 on Saturday and decided I needed to be with my family and try one more time to mend fences with my ex wife. So I left T.W.R.s place and headed for the early ferry sailing. I dropped the bike off at home changed vehicles and drove up to Whitianga to where my family where on holiday.
I got there just as the last minutes of my birthday were ticking away, so that was nice. It was awesome to surprise my kids. The fence mending with the ex did not go well at all though and I got the big reject

Anyways, I just got back home now, so thats my late and rather short race report!

I'll be stepping back from racing for a while to concentrate on my neglected business and my children and won't be riding the ten again. I'll just enter selected Actrix rounds on my 750 when I feel like a blast and keep things light and uncomplicated

A HUGE thanks to all the KB'ers that supported me. A special big thanks to T.W.R. for putting up with me down south!
Thanks to my sponsors, Richard, Pirelli and Hewitts Motorcycles, sorry I did not come through for you guys.

All in all, a pretty disastrous nats campaign, and I hate this cliche, but it is so apt. Thats racing!

    Ripped for you Sugilite.

All the best with the other areas of your life.

Out of interest, how did you lose the front while on the gas? Not too common a way to crash I would think?

I think very few of us know what to say Ant... a broken bike can be fixed, other stuff is not as easy.

I'm here if there is anything I can do to help, but like Skel says... right now I'm not sure what I can do.

like me dearest father used to say: "and this to shall pass"

    Good luck my friend

Was wondering what the story was when I didn't see you in the results on Mylaps. When stuff like this happens you really do wonder if its all worth while.

    What? So Thats it?!

    Not even a
"I've just Trashed the 10, and I'm struggling to make the next round" thread so we could at least have the option to pass the hat around?
Heck, If I can put $10 in for Jason Mc' who wasn't one of us, surly I/we could do it for you.

Dare I say,, Maybe you give up too easy Anthony. Not what Sponsors want to see.
You are a well repected KB racer. If you want it,, Make it Happen!

Maybe those words are just to easy to say...... But those are my thoughts, as I sit here at the computer, sipping my coffee,, after an afternoon of fine weather at the beach.

Consider this a kick in the arse! (we all need them now and again).
and Get back out there and show us how it's done!

Mate it would have made spectacular footage if caught on camera the sight of the 10 popping into view a couple of times stopped Sam S in mid sentence I missed it as Derek & I were talking, but it was a while before you came into sight from behind the tractor tyres, seeing the flaggy running over sent a awful feeling down the spine

What did we step it out at when we went searching for the brake lever? from initial mark to final resting point was around 100m & from 1st dirt mark to resting point 5 impact marks over 70m

You've got a good family of support here bud! And your pretty low maintenance & house trained which made things easy though our we venture into Ashvagas on my ZXR would have been worth a few laughs if we'd been snapped on camera like 2 gorillas on a tonka toy but wait till you get the bill in the mail for the week

The 10 is going to need a BIG magic stick brushed over it, she's a pretty sad state of affairs

Pull your head in RR! just respect the Man's decision!!. There's more important things in life than ripping around in circles. And at the present point in time Anthony made the right call, All the issues haven't been put up here and there isn't any need to put them here to be dissected publicly

I was looking for you down there on the Friday and Then Torque said you'd crashed and pulled the pin on it, catch you next time you're down

    Back off?
    Well yes. fair enough.
Was just in Shock that he was out.

I wouldn't have said that to anyone I hadn't personally meet.

The crux of my post was, Surly there is something we can do to help.
Yes we were given little detail.
Yes the right decision probably has been made.

    I know nothing. Just checking.

All the best for your future Anthony.
