OK so am in Granada Nicaragua for the day being a tourist. Like any other `beautiful`and `atmospheric` town Lonely Planet describes it`s become part of the tourist route where everyone stops by. Nevertheless it`s nice after 10 days of spanish to talk to a couple of backpackers.
Jon and I have met up. He needs a new battery and flung his clutch cable so has some looking to do to find a replacement today. As for me? It`s about 25 degrees at 8am here so I plan on fine tuning my hammock skills while Jon gets to navigate my trusty steed through Granada.
photos:
1 it`s a tough city for pedestrians (Tegucigalpa, Honduras)
2 Dog of a day
3 The roads have been generally pretty good on the CA1. I`m getting ready for some dirt trail action though.
Awesome! Good stuff guys.![]()

Ever notice that anyone slower than you is an idiot, but anyone going faster is a maniac?
check out my day off!
got my first sunburn but was worth it.
Hi
Now crossed the Darien Gap by boat. Was a really tight situation getting on the boat as the jungle mud was impassable by motorbike in the morning after it rained. I dropped the bike within 5 metres of pushing.
More detail on website.
cheers!
Hey Josh, I don't believe your photos show just how wet and boggy it really was! The boat trip will be a memory for life, and maybe some new international friends as well. Stay safe.
Hi all
Havent updated this in a while.
Now riding alone. Jon is in Medellin having called it a day with the riding. Hopefully he'll be able to sell the bike.
Leaving Medellin I bumped into a group of Harley riders, a couple of characters there for sure. You may enjoy these photos.

Hi there
Old thread but thought I would resurrect it. I am in Rio - my trip is done. It΄s been almost 9 weeks, a long time on the road. I have about 6000 kms to go yet, to sell the bike and fly out (from Bolivia).
check the site if interested in any photos
chau
Josh
Hi Josh,
Well you are certainly having a great time. There were a couple of Harleys there but I was really interested in the Black lookalike at the front. It was a USA assembled 250cc called a "VTHUNDER" by Vento Industries in Texas. Were these guys locals??? Or Tourists like you?
Now you can tell us, we're family - "Who is SHE????
