cbr250 power.

Hello. Im just after a bit of advise about a cbr250. im looking at buying a 94 cbr however ive been told that they have had their power limited compared with a `93`92&`91 models. Has anybody owned either or ridden both of these models . What im wondering is if their is really much of a difference power wise. My last 2 bikes were a `88 vt250 and a `89 gsxr250. So i would imagine that a cbr will be a much better and quicker bike.

I've had the 1990 versions for the last few years, it's the same up to 92 I think. This is the best model of the mc22 CBR, and it has 45 hp. The 94 has 40. You are far better off with the 45hp. It's well over 10% more power. Very noticeable, and many of the differences are a pain in the arse to change. Don't get a 94 one. Check out www.cr-x.org/cbr250

Thanks vtec. I checked out that website you suggested. aperently to get the bike up to full power youve just got to remove the carbs off the intake manifold and in there is a rubber washer in each intake manifold. Im unsure how true that is as i thought it had something to do with retarding the timing. I will ask the local mechanic i think.

I've heard that too, but I've also heard that there are a lot more differences. Can't remember exactly. If I had more time on my side, I'd go through and find out what the differences are, but I don't so it's up to you buddy.

its a honda.... just get a dirty ninga ninga #cough# i mean and rgv250 and be done with sport 250's
