    hmmm....My riding pants are jeans...

And I remember hitting the 50km/h corner at Whatawhata doing 120,Hitting the deck, cartwheeling and then crashing through a 5 strand wire fence...In a t-shirt, My leather jacket was rolled up and tied to my rear mudguard.

I wear my full gear everyday.
Yes it's bloody hot when you stop moving and even more so when the wife makes you go into the supermarket on the way home. But I would rather be hot than have 90% of my skin removed by the road.

Too ture. I'd be lying if I sayd I wore it EVERYwhere (I don't bother with the pants and boots when I'm getting gas from around the corner). But I agree, I'd put up with the sweat, heat and smell for the protection

but I'm not gonna make other people were it, if they wanna loose their skin then go ahead lol. I cringe when I see office yuppies on scooters in a dress shirt and pants

I reckon you only wear no / cheap gear if you've never come off. I had a big off 18 - 19 years ago (180 k's) and since then I always wear all the gear. Better cooked than skinned ! I cringe when I see scooter riders in shorts and a T shirt.

That leaves me naked, as usual.

    Morning fella.

The hair on my back has gone silver!

Good point though. Nearly enough to hair that it would just ook like a fur riding suit.

I dont bother with pants and boots on the round town riding, but I do wear my jacket all the time. Even I cringe seeing anyone in shorts and t-shirt.

I think it's just habit - I can't drive a car without the seatbelt on,it just feels so wrong.I've never been in a crash that needed a seatbelt, but I feel unsafe without one.We wear so much safety gear that to leave just one part off makes us feel ''unsafe''.

Yea it is habit, before I got my pants and boots etc, it never bothered me, but now when I ride without them, it just doesn't feel very safe.

as long as the riders without their gears keep their smarts in their heads, then good luck and keep safe!

most of the riders I've seen around east have just been wearing jeans/shirts/helmets, last few weeks have just been scorchers!!

Motu, it might be a habit, but I never want to feel as crook as I did when I splattered myself all over the road. I'm a slow learner but some things you don't forget.
