Nice to see the good folks getting on the scoreboard

Yep, there is lots of good stuff happening, and some fantastic people in NZ. Nice to see the media publishing it - albeit occasionally

Our future leaders are already making themselves known even at that age.Just shows that that even though our generation(s) have made a hash out of things, there are a new crop of younger citizens that are alive and kicking and not squandering opportunities and blaming the system. How can we not love them.

    Wow!!

    What a girl.

She's got total respect from me.

I think that's the coolest thing I've read in a while.

He might just be mentally projecting her 5 years into the future. You know when she's legal and has breast.

Back on the subject. Good stuff, bet her dad's real proud. Good on the media for running with the story too. Sometimes it is all too easy to just run with rants (same could be said with us here).

Having worked with Bob for over a decade I reckon a bit of respect for a grieving family wouldn't go amiss.

An extremely selfless act, what a champion. It's a very courageous person who will put themselves in harms way to rescue another. Well done to that plucky 11 yr old.

If you do know the family and get a chance - please pass on (as a kayaker and fellow human being) my sincerest condolences and also my congratulations (as a parent) and thanks on raising such an admirable daughter.

Perhaps these small miracles happen every day but frankly I'd rather read this than the negative crap.

Got my respect for what it's worth.

    Ditto to what PaulNZ said.
