    Wow!

(Just to clarify, that's my response to the photo, not what a bunch of Christians are expected to say - though they might)
What a difference indifference can make

The Wellington Kiwi Biker Heavenly Bodies Appreciation Society (Inc) copped a decent eyeful of McNaught at Pauatahanui last night.

The WKBHBAS (Inc) saw it first.

Argh! You bastards - luring us up to the top of the paekak hill for some non comet veiwing and basic cloud appreciation in sub zero temperatures and all the time you had smuggled the blasted thing over towards the hutt Valley.. Drats.

Since there was a guiding light in the sky, one wise man (with an adjustable screen) and Jim2 on a camel I presume there was an inn?

Now - in case the clouds clear.... (fat chance) Where was this veiwing spot again?

Maybe you should consider joining the WKBHBAS (Inc) rather than the Kapiti Koast Kruddy Komet and Kosmology Klub.

Can this Comet be seen from Christchurch too?
90% of the time spent writing this post was spent thinking of something witty to say. It may have been wasted.

Are Burger Rings(TM) and Arse Singeing good enough?

    Bloody amazing alright!!!.

It is 153 million miles from earth and the tail is 15 million miles long. I follows the sun around the earth. Rising in the NE, tracking with the sun and disappearing below the SW horizon a couple of hours after sunset. Should be visible for approx 3 weeks.

Yeah, was riding home from the South Auckland Night Ride when I saw it, bloody amazing - had to snatch plenty of peeks at it when I was pootling along. I'm going to stash my tripod and take lots of piccies ... 'cause once it's gone, don't think I'll be around when it next reappears!?

Nice pics by all those snap happy shooters!
