    Special Man...

Yeah Babe, a special man alright.

Riding the best sidecar in the world that (other peoples) money can buy, but still couldn't beat NZ laptimes set up to 11 years ago??
Come to think of it, he couldn't get near Steve Abbotts lap times in OZ either - on the same machine mind you......... now that's comparing apples with apples............
Now, who were those skirts for again Stacy????

Seeing as his passenger wont be needing one

Id say theyre all for him Viewer.
When you put on a display on a sidecar thats about as boring as watching a dwarf in a pedal car you need to do something to get noticed.
Maybe he thinks wearing a skirt will do it.
Hey Stacey, Bring a few matching blouses for yaself too mate.
    Kiss it Stace.

I thought the only lap time he didn't beat was Hazlemans Ruapuna record which was set on a "Sitter" perhaps you can prove different?

    He's all right (for a Aussie )

No thats right Dave wouldnt waste his time with this crap!!
    And you are??
Hopefully you may be at Manfield and you can try some of the skirts on that i am bringing over.
You sound like some fun so i am sure that you would enjoy the fun side of it.
You sound large so i will make sure that i have your size.
Would you know where i can buy some 1500cc pistons for my GSXR1000 or do you only shop online.
It was a great reply anyhow just with no substance.Keep up the good work, you tell a great story.

I would love to use a stage name but i dont have one.

    Boob well said

Boob, that is the most sensible thing you have ever said..well done!!
What excuse do you have for me at Manfield and Puki....Please not the same as last year my ears are still bleeding..I will admit though at the moment you guys are extremely fast and it will mean something to me this time when i smack you asses this time around. If its the other way around you guys have learnt something and thats what it is all about..But I aint going to lie down for you Boob.

Lets keep the personal stuff for your van and the serious stuff for the track.
Question: Can you still win a Championship if you loose the last two rounds?

    Dont worry about bringing skirts

Just bring a standard Hayabusa head gasket so i can pull the thing apart in front of you so you can measure it up, Im serious.
Get some 1500 pistons for your wee engine, they wont make up for Scrivys talent.

What do you want to prove????

    Stacey,

I am amazed to see your comments belittling our team!

It’s interesting that all you seem to do is negatively criticize ourselves and other competitors.
I would have thought that Brett would have wanted a professional approach to his team?

Why do you constantly make false accusations to everyone about the size of our engine? Steve and I aren’t into the smoke and mirror concepts that you guys employ, ie, we don’t bullshit about what is inside our engine – we’ve stated fact, that all we have is Wiseco pistons (of original cc). No hot cams, no rods, no trick crank, no oversize valves, and no aftermarket gearbox bits as you imply.

Why do you chose to run us down to all and sundry??
What satisfaction do you derive by calling Steve and I girls? Does it give you a confidence boost? I bet half the field in the US IRL would love to be as good as Danica Patrick!

The one point you seem to miss Stacey, is that Steve and I aren’t trophy hunters at all. This is pretty evident when you see us out on the track. We are there to put on a show as you would have witnessed, for both the enjoyment of ourselves, but more importantly for the paying spectators. Going sideways into and out of corners doesn’t make for the fastest lap times as you would know, nor does lifting the chairwheel as high as we can get, but once again, we aren’t here to try, and I quote you, “SMASH” any lap records. We are here to have some stress relief from our businesses.
I think you’d also agree with me that the spectacle of (seemingly) out of control machines has diminished over the last decade, as has the number of paying spectators. Yes, Steve and I do take our hands off – to acknowledge the crowd, something that they love to see, and as a result, we have buzzing spectators come to see us after every race because of it. That is one of our biggest kicks, not just going round and round really fast like you were on rails. If that’s what I wanted, I’d by a slotcar set!

You may or may not know Stacey, but Steve and I put a cap on our racing to only $5000 a season (which includes travel, accommodation, ferries, entries, fuel and tyres) – this was the limit I agreed on since 1991. Any more, and I cannot justify the spend for the enjoyment returned. I have no desire to spend over $100,000 for only a few meetings a year. I think Steve and I do pretty well on our 18 year old pig compared to a lot of the field on superior machines.

Its bizarre that you imply we’ve got the most horsepower and that’s how we’re winning races. In fact, the Prentices would have the same, Dave Annan would definitely have more, and Steve Bron – well, I guess we’ll never know! It is pretty evident though, that the Prentices beat us into turn one in one race, and also Steve Bron passed us down the front straight at Ruapuna! I guess you’ll just say that I was sandbagging?
I see that we did beat your lap time that you did last year at Ruapuna, and we were on old tyres, and all while we were having a ball too! That was just an extra bonus for us - not what we were aiming for.

Don’t treat the NZ sidecar scene as you do in Australia. We are not professionals, we do not run professional outfits and teams, and most teams here get a bigger buzz out of racing something that they build rather than how big their wallet is. Our team also helped out other teams while we were down south. Our place in our sport is not for the trophies, but to ensure everyone gets to enjoy our great sport to the fullest. Talk to the Wollands – we spent more time on their chair than on our own! It's people like them that make our sidecar fraternity what it is - a family!

If you really want the 50 cent sized medal for winning the championship so bad, why don’t you just ask MNZ to engrave your name on it now? I know Steve and I couldn’t be bothered!

One last thing, racing a 2005 LCR in the NZ sidecar series would be like Troy Bayliss bringing his 2007 Ducati over here to do our Superbike series. Or an Australian V8 touring car doing the NZ V8 series. Different machines entirely. You know it Stacey, as do most of the spectators. So please stop belittling our team. We do it for enjoyment, not for trophies.
Also, I’m not interested in what you can do at Manfeild or Pukekohe. I’m not interested in racing with someone that doesn’t share my enjoyment with the sport. Go around in circles by yourself.

    Andy Scrivener.

    Well said

Scrivy and sidecarbob, you guys were the only ones in any class that were putting on a show for us spectators.

Noone else did anything. You guys gave me and others value for our money!!

From a spectators point of view, I couldn't give a toss if the lap record was broken. I pay to see action. Seeing only the top of a helmet with no body language just about makes me fall asleep!

Keep up the antics gentlemen, you guys keep having fun.

Don't worry about Stacey, he can't win in Aussie either......
