if anyones keen, i can also put on a workshop about how to professionally spray your bike aswell, might want some koha towards this one tho for materials

    keep it in mind PF
i would like to learn to spray, then i would like to paint every bike i can wheelie bin green, until there is no more wheelie bin green paint left and aaron at colour works refuses to serve me.

nope not just that. they get rough rust around the base of the chrome slider (where it connects to dog bones i think) and then when you go over a nasty nasty bump on sh22 on a fight club ride it pops the seals on a non rebuildable rear shock and leaks all over ya ****in rear tyre causing alot of fun. only seen it twice but it does happen. stoppies would do it also.. stoppies and wheelies when done real hard screw any shock

Feel free to take my word for it, im poor, and cheap too :P
But haventn't blowen any seals latly, only a rocker cover :P
Which would be something everyone should learn about, preferable not when oil starts spraying from the motor :P
But But name a time and place, sound like a good idea

Great... Looks like we have a lot of interest. For those out of Auckland, as I mentioned in an earlier post I'll be doing my best to document the Spanner Night for those that miss it and for future members (who will more than likely have brought their ZXR off one of us lol... poor bastards)

Anyway, so now that we have enough interest to deem organising the night/day/whatever...

Who is happy to cover any of the following topics?

    1. Covering Basic tools required & were they can be brought
    2. Fairing Removal
    3. Oil & Oil Filter Change
    4. Checking/Cleaning/Changing the spark plugs
    5. Checking Brake Fluid levels
    6. Bleeding the brakes
    7. Battery Removal (Some people don't know how to do this)
    8. Checking Coolant levels
    9. Adjusting levers (Brake & Clutch... simple as... but you never know)
    10. Adjusting Suspension
    11. Chain Adjustment
    12. Chain and Sprocket maintainence
    13. Changing the Chain & Sprokets (depending on how keen you are)
    14. Camchain tensioners (for those that stick)
    15. Plastic Welding (save some money & fix your fairings yourself)
    16. De-Restriction
    17. Lubing Cables (clutch Cable)
    18. Cleaning Filters
    19. Replacing Fork oils and seals
    20. Checking head bearings, wheel bearings & Swingarm Bearings
    21. Gasget Jets
    22. Re-Building Carbs
    23. Waterproof the electrics
    24. Changing Brake Pads (proberly best to do this BEFORE bleeding the brakes)
    25. Checking the Regulator
    26. Checking the choke cable (apparantly its meant to stick and not close on its own)
I have a copy of the service manual for the ZXR "C" model and I'm happy to print out a few copies (thanks to work lol) that can be handed out on the night for those who don't have one already...
    27.Wheel Alignment
    28. Shocks
    29. Rocker Cover (I don't even know what this is lol)
Also does anyone have a suitable venue where a group of bikers can gather with some or most of the equipment/tools needed?

Please can you also let me know who needs a manual/service manual thingy so I can start printing them out slowly so the boss doesn't notice...

No worries I need to learn most of this stuff too... been waiting for Frosty and the boys to organise another Spanner Night for a while, but those guys are pretty busy, so thought why not give it a shot myself...

I learnt a lot, but I'm not confident enough to try to teach other people. lol and besides I'm not even strong enough to unscrew the oil thingy to drain my oil... lol that was pretty sad huh

It's better to not pass and know that you could have than to pass and find out that you can't. Wait for the straight.
