came across a mob of 10 goats, all with horns.

murpheys law states when this happens, you will be 5 hrs away from your rifle.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot

"As some of you have no doubt heard, Chris is helping to get a new shooting range off the ground, and he has posted updates in the firearm thread.

Talking to him this weekend gone, he reckons they could be up in 2-3 months time.

Now I was thinknig this could be a great time for a few of the KBers in the area to meet up and chat, shoot and have a few drinks (after the toys are put away!) and what not.

Now, Wolf, I believe you have a muzzleloader, I wish to try that! I'm considering getting one (namely a Brown Bess repro)

Let me know what you think guys....

    Cheers

Whats something relatively cheap rifle that can be silenced (so I don't have to go miles out of the way or only shoot in certain times) and is good to learn shooting with? Like what brand or model in peticular?

Quiet enough that I could shoot in the paddock about 50 meters from a group of houses in town without getting the cops called on me. Just another thing... Is there a difference between a silencer and a suppressor?

The way I think of it is that a silencer is a device that goes over the entire/most of the barrel and tries to take as much noise as possible from the rifle out.

A suppressor is normally the screw on device that's about 10cm long and just goes on the end of the barrel. They take most of the noise out, but people 50m would still hear it I reckon.

where as a good fully suppressed rifle, you would only hear the sound the firing pin hitting the round.

If you have a licence etc, don't worry I reckon. Use the rifle with the suppressor, minding your own business.

Worst case if the cops get called out, show them your licence, and if they say "oh the people down the road are scared blah blah" just say sorry and don't do it again, because the law is on their side.

Or you could just go down the road and ask/tell them u wanna shoot shit and how do they feel

Is there any specific rule saying you have to be a certain distance away from residential places to shoot as far as you know?
