I'm not sure is more wrong - that comment, or the first coming to mind was shoving a stick of explosive up the sheep's arse...

    Two reasons.
#1. "Style and appearance". One has to look the part when in the presence of other "homo's" oops! "homies".
#2. To slow down the draw and potentially decrease accuracy. This is a good thing(tm) for the law enforcement community...

I am really knackered. Trying to work my way through the RMA in attempt to get consent for our new range.

How do firms ever manage to get things done?

What a minefield of beaurocracy and red tape.

    They have my sympathy.

So far I have 15 pages of typed commentary, range plans re certification by the police, letters of support from the police, letters from all the heighbours in the affected area, results of a noise survey, our own health and safety plan, document of incorporation, notification of acceptance by NZ Pistol Assn; maps showing boundaries, streams and woodland, topographical maps, photos etc etc etc.

The hard part is trying to put them all into a format that will make us non notifiable. The cost to this is $300-600. Council already decided that as we are a "shooting" club that it must be notifiable and it will cost us $3000 deposit with a top end of $10,000. We need to change their minds on this, we have notified all the neighbours and have all their permissions.

To be honest, i don't really see how you could ever get non notifiable consent. Its a negative stigma that guns have

One can but live in hope, that ignorance and bigotry are relegated to the darkest confines of the human 'soul" and for once a decision is based upon rational thinking

Working with councils is a game of how you present the information - maybe a few hours of a planners time would be cheaper than a notified consent process?
