Who else got a nice letter today from Mr W Olphert?

Seems the Independent Police Conduct Authority do listen..... well at least send back a letter, which goes in to the details of the case in PN and Justice Mallon held that the police interpretation was incorrect!

They're definitely holding the 'return to status quo' line pretty strongly which is a little bit disingenuous. That kinda pisses me off, given that the decision of Justice Mallon invalidated their interpretation since the beginning of the implementation of the MSSA system.

So, the letter's saying "thanks for complaining that you were unfairly treated by the incorrect interpretation enacted by the police, we are not going to do anything about it"?

It's saying 'thanks for complaining, we're just going to forget the entire thing and pretend it didn't happen, carry on please', all the while hoping that you don't realise that Justice Mallon's decision actually renders a wide swathe of firearms that were E-cat before the reinterpretation debacle back to A-cat where they should be. I bet they won't be sending letters out to those people.

Just need someone to try it out...

Put a fake trademe auction up for a new "A" class rifle and see if they take it down.....

Yeah, but that's just seeing what tardme thinks and arguing the finer points of Justice Mallon's decision with them seems like a pointless exercise. Needs someone to do it with a Hogue furnished AR pattern rifle or similar...

I thought about making something like that a while back but simpler, just a basic line following wheeled robot with a car battery in it. Would be much easier to set up, just spraypaint a line on the ground and away it'd go.

Lol, simpler from the point of view of taking it out and setting it up then taking it down again. Also simpler for me to make! I can't be having with no crazy rail contraptions...

To be honest an IPT wire acting as a guide would be cheaper to implement, and I think easier, than optical.......
