Yes, quite good for the job. A great bush and scrub gun for short range stuff up to~140metres.
I've had three of them and they have been reliable. They used to go for $3-400- some years back, but I notice that their value has increased.

Yea, seem to be like $800 new I think. But second hand ones can be had for $400 etc.

Might grab one sometime, as Chris knows I like my Russian rifles

Would prefer a Russian made one over the a Chinese, but it's not a biggie really

    Thanks for the info swoop.

Yup, have a removable mag model.
Built like a hammer, ugly as hell. I replaced the stockon miwn with a Fibreforce oen with 4" more length of pull
4" groups/100m is no sniper gun, but hunting accurate.

An original Russian one, bayonet lug cut off (one of the first things I did as I got sick of having to untangle it from lianas), mag cut down to 5 shots (due to ghey MSSA legislation), stock replaced with fibre stock - hole-thru "target stock".

Seriously considering going back to the original wooden stock as I have to grind my cheek into the stock and tilt my head at a funny angle to line up the sights - fucking painful enough before I fire it and get a faceful of recoil!

You'll have to let me use it when we meet up sometime, perhaps when the range opens

Sounds a good plan. Or when we by chance meet up at Chateau Merde.

    It's quite abrupt - like a .303. Shiny's 30-06 has a smoother recoil despite a far larger round.

When I can get a day off. Sundays are usually the best for me as Juliet has things to do on Saturdays and I look after all the cubs.

Of course, all you guys'd be at church on sundays...

ahh the joys of the time when someone first meets indy.

you will go through the motions - laughter, shock, disgust, disbelief and more laughter.
Then I could get a Kb Tshirt, move to Timaru and become a full time crossdressing faggot
