    Modified cans for SV1000

These standard mufflers are opened up by removal of the rear baffle and tube and the fitting of a 40mm x 100mm long tube welded back into the rear baffle plate. An improvement on the standard mod of hacking the rear baffle.

Hi Dennis, curious as to why you only used them for such a short time?
Have you gone for something more exotic?

The sound is too good for the good lady, and in her considered opinion for the neighbours. Dafe arrived at my place for a comparision with his Two Brothers and that didn't impress either. We could hear him coming 2kms away (live on a hill overlooking suburb). So yes I am to buy some high bling pipes but with removable inserts that keep the noise down a bit.

They won't ban non standard pipes, but now that they have new certification laws and noise laws regarding exhausts, they may at some stage in the distant future be required to be certified. Already, if they think you're too loud, they can force you to get them tested at a low volume vehicle certifier, who can then sell you a wee tag to rivet to your cans. Fortunately the hot rod guys have put a lot of effort into keeping the law realistic, and and such non standard cans are fine non certified till if they're a reasonable volume

Shit really? I have a friend who has just fabricated an underseat exhaust for his bike, and it is quite noisey (although it sounds impressive) and surely wouldn't pass a test even if a deaf man with a broken decibel reader was conducting it. The way he has done it almost makes it impossible to go back to factory. What say you re his situation?

I'd say he needs to fabricate a removable baffle before his warrant on the 31st of March

    Ya smart bastard

Auction closes 3.27 - going cheap

Only one bid and a way to go to get to the reserve. I am giving these away at what it cost for unused cans and a professionally done modification.

Looks like 'Chris' has autobid up to his maximum. If he doesn't bump it up further before it closes, you might have found his top price, might be worth making a fixed price offer of say $170? I guess they're only worth what someone is willing to pay... good luck
