They are evil because you would not be allowed to open and run a men-only gym

Amen to that Alice. If it wasn't for my busted rib and this crappy weather (and any other excuse I can think of), I'd be out there too.

I bike(d) 30km each way to work 3 days a week. It's not too far, I used to think it was, but now I would feel cheated by a too-short 10km ride. It takes 1hr15min with a tail wind and apart from getting up earlier, really is great. Everything you said about the biking experience I endorse.

I go to Bodyworks "Powerade Fitness club of the year 2006" apparently. I've always found it good. Good people, no stress, no posers. Even my mrs, who hated gyms, goes there now. If you join up 1st thing tomorrow you get a free 7's ticket. 36 month membership but you can transfer it to someone else if you want (people do it all the time)

It's a good event - even just for the party!

I used to bike 22km each way each day for quite a few years, mentioned 10km cause its acheivable for anyone. Nowdays I have only 10km each way which is about perfect for me because that I'm not into cycling as a sport anymore.

Crappy weather,......... its ok unless its absolutely pissisting down, guaranteed to get a puncture those nights as well, had that happen one night and checking the inside of my tire in the dark I just about sliced my finger off cause of the huge shard of glass that had punctured my tyre. Blood pissing out everywhere.

I tried mountain biking into work again this morning but had to turn around after about 50m and take the zx6 in instead since my mountain bike seat is made of something resembling rock, and getting back on it this morning made me feel like I'd been dropping Maurice's soap all night I need a new gel seat before I get back on that freakin thing again.
Harr Har, don't give in, it gets better, yu arse gets used to it, the downhills are fun, and the uphills believe it or not become enjoyable to.

That's very true. I know I'm a fairly large chap and I was a little concerned people (that have met me) might think it's a power gym or summat. But it's not. It's really friendly, comfortable, unpretentious place to work out in.

Couldn't agree more Col. And most of the Hurricanes and Firebirds etc used to (don't know if they still do) work out there, which gave me something to look at (including just about running Jonah over in the carpark one day , good god that man is HUGE!) The spin classes are wicked good fun and make for a really good workout!

I agree with Col's & MrsK, Bodyworks is great. Was dragged along kicking and screaming by a freind a few years ago and i loved it so much i had to join. Picked up a membership of T&E for $50 transfer and $14/wk.

Well if it's anything like when someone dishes out red rep to me, you will hopefully get 4 times as many green back to make up for one person's pathetic insecurities.
