Having said that, considering the price points of the two bikes I would see more merit in getting people very excited about the bigger bike

It really had nothing to do with the sound of the bike I just enjoyed the way the 1000 went more so than the 650. It also may have just been that I actually had enough guts to get on it too... At least I felt cool for about half an hour!

Fair comment. Still reckon that the sound has a lot to do with alot of what some people were saying. I know my bike took on a completely different personality when I liberated the sound from its anaemic sounding cans.

Loved the Daytona - wot a great wee beastie
The SVs were, well, SVs! - good at what they are, and prolly good value for $. The thou sure sounded good with those pipes.
The Buell...well, glad the curiosity was satisfied....a bit of fun but it wont be making my wish list.

Highlight of the day? the look on a certain persons face after a spin on the back of the SV1000....
